Ms. Melanie Grimm picked up the picture on her desk and stared at it. It was taken when she was 15-years-old and before she was cursed by the witch Hagatha Schnoznose. Ms. Grimm couldn’t help but remember that faithful night.

A young Melanie was spying through the window of old lady Schnoznose’s house. Schnoznose was her last lead in finding the Goblet before the Darrow. Schnoznose put the map Melanie needed down on the table before walking out of the room, “Damn I need to take a dump,” she grumbled.

Melanie opened the window and very gingerly crawled through the window and lowered herself to the floor. Melanie tip toed to the table and slowly picked up the map. She knew she should get away as soon as possible, but her curiosity always got the best of her and Melanie decide to take a quick peek. “What’s the worst that could happen?” Melanie shrugged.

She unfurled the map and was only able to look long enough to see that a clay wall was hidden near or in the school, before the map was ripped from her hands. “Schnoznose!” Melanie yelled. She started to back towards the window when it slammed shut behind her.

“Melanie Grimm, kid detective. Well I think you may have solved your last mystery young woman!” Schnoznose cackled.

“I’m not afraid of you Schnoznose! Do your worst, because I will always beat you,” Melanie told her defiantly, thrusting out her chest.

“My worst? Oh I think that may be too much for you my nosy little nemesis, instead I give you this!” Schnoznose pointed a finger at the young Melanie and in a lyrical voice told her, “Nosy you are, so Nosy you’ll be. Let your Nosiness be plain for all to see!” And with that Schnoznose laughed long and loud. Her front door bursting open and a young Melanie ran forth into the night unaware of just what had changed in her.

“Ms. Grimm!” Simon yelled getting her attention.

“Huh, what is it Simon?” Ms. Grimm asked still distracted by her memories.

“I asked could I go to the bathroom?” Simon repeated.

“Sure, sure go to the bathroom,” Ms. Grimm answered before looking back at her picture.
