Princess Eliza looked with disdain at the streets of Widowwood, outside of the castle's ramparts. Filthy, stupid people. She despised having so many of them so close to her home. She'd been trying to convince her father how unseemly it was, but he didn't seem to care. Old fool. He didn't understand; they were royalty. They were so much better than that common scum who served them.
Of course, her father disagreed; that's why he ensured she'd never be part of the line of succession. She'd never be queen, which was truly maddening. She'd teach these people their proper place.
Sighing with frustration, the beautiful but vain princess turned, started to find a woman standing in her bedchamber. Further, she was nude. She was certainly beautiful, but..what was this?
"How dare you intrude here!" she snapped, eyes cold with a restrained fury. "Who are you?"
Lydia smiled, amused by her defiance. "Who do you think I am?"
"I'm in no mood for games," Eliza noted. "You're obviously royalty, considering your figure and good breeding. No common serf would have a body as fine as yours. Are you lost? A guest of my father's? This is not the guest chamber."
Lydia paused. Interesting. "You dislike the commoners?"
"'Dislike' is too weak a word," Eliza replied. "They're ants. Roaches in human form. I detest them."
Lydia hadn't expected this. This girl's beauty hid a heart as contemptuous and cold as her own. Perhaps she could use this...
"Were it only possible, that they could truly be bugs beneath you," Lydia offered.
"Delightful," Eliza agreed. "I'd take no hesitation in crushing them."
