The rowdy Umbreon

by: The Swift Gale Author IconMail Icon
"How many times have I warned you about this?" You sigh before applying a small dab of peroxide upon a wash rag. Carefully, you rub the rag upon Your Umbreon's injured ears making a small grunt escape her mouth. Despite the treatment, She remained perfectly seated upon her knees while gazing down at the floor with a bitter yet ashamed expression on her face.

"They did it again." she mumbles with a huff. By now you were used to your Umbreon, Darcell getting into fights outside of your home. But now however, it seemed like she was constantly returning home with scraps or bruises upon her body. Ever since she managed to encounter some pokemon belonging to rich families not too far off, that short temper of hers has lead her to constant skirmishes with the lot.

"It doesn't matter Darcell." you scold while continuing to tend her injuries. "You should know they'd try and pick fights with you over there."

"But this time was different..." She growls while turning her head slightly to gaze at you. "They called you a weak, useless commoner!" She huffs. "what else was I suppose to do? Just stand there and accept that?"

"Those are just words Darcell." You state in a stern voice. "nothing but a way of trying to lead you into trouble."

"Well they sure got the trouble they wanted..." Darcell mutters still in a snit.

With one final rub on her other pointy ear, you place the rag down on your knee. "Listen...you shouldn't try and fall into their plans." you begin with a sigh. "If trouble comes knocking, the best thing to do is try and avoid it completely."

"Even when they said all those lies about you?" She asks.

"Even then." you state with a nod. "Violence is something that should be considered as a last resort." you explain. "And despite that, you should always try and step away from it as best as you can. It's best to think before actually rushing head on into a mess." Darcell remains seated after your lecture as her eyes were focused entirely on the floor. Just by the silence and gaze she was giving, it was clear guilt overcame her. With a sigh, you rise up from your seat before gently patting her head. "Though, I'm thankful you stood up for me." You admit while mustering a small smile.

Darcell, taken by surprise from the comments gazes up at you before mustering a smile. "R-right." she says before slowly standing up herself.

"Now how about we get some ice cream from the fridge? That should help try and cool you off." you say in a rather light hearted manner as Darcell simply chuckles in response.

"Sounds like a plan to me." She replies as both you and her make your way into the kitchen. After filling the bowls with a few scoops of strawberry and vanilla ice cream, you both soon return to the living room before sitting upon the couch. With a flick of a switch, the television set soon beams showing a local pokemon fight occurring.

"Hey Master?" Darcell. "Says with a spoon of ice cream still in her mouth.

"What's up?" You ask, freezing your motions from placing the spoon in your mouth.

"You did say fighting is wrong earlier...but what about pokemon fights like this?" She asks turning her head so her red eyes were gazing upon you.

"Well...this is different." You state before placing the spoon in your mouth. "Here, it's mainly about sportsmanship and rules to follow. It isn't ALL about needless violence against others."

Darcell gives a sigh as she places her spoon back inside her bowl. "Do...you think I might be able to make it there one day?" she asks.

"Huh?" you mutter confused by her words before gazing back at the screen. "You mean a pokemon tournament?"

Darcell Nods upon your question. "Yeah...do you think I might be able to join there one of these days?"

After a brief second of silence you simply give a light shrug of your shoulders. "Sure." you answer while setting your empty bowl upon the nearest table.

"Really!?" Darcell stammers, as if taken aback by your response.

"I don't see why not." You shrug. "I mean, you certainly have the skills to fight back that's for sure. Plus, it will give you a good reason to stop pummeling other pokemon." You add with a light chuckle.

Darcell simply chuckles in response while giving a small eye roll. "Funny Master."

After around half an hour or so of watching the matches, you soon begin to rise up and give a drowsy stretch. "Man,, I'm beat." you grunt while finishing up your stretch. "I think I'll hit the hay now." Curiously, you gaze down at Darcell as she continues to sit and watch the match. "You gonna finish this up?" you ask curiously.

Darcell, quickly shifts her attention up at you before nodding. "uh huh...yeah."

"Well...Don't stay up too late alright?" you insists before making your way down the dark hallway towards your room. As you continue to walk down however, to your confusion it seemed almost as if you were continuing your way down the dark area. "W-What's going on here?" you think aloud with a raised brow before stopping in place. Within a matter of seconds, the whole area soon begins to fade into a complete darkness, leaving you alone within the strange depths. "Is this some sort of trick?" you mutter, unsure if this was reality or some sort of dream. Dumbfounded, you slowly continue onwards while spreading your arms out in front of you to touch any approaching obstacle. After a couples steps forward, your hand soon ends up coming into contact with a rather odd object. "w-what the?" you murmur feeling about the strange surface. Oddly enough, it felt almost like-
