Chapter #4

Approach Dan, "Da Kreepo"

    by: neverthese Author IconMail Icon
You decide to approach Da Kreepo's house. Dan Krepnik was lying on his hammock, his long, black hair sprawled underneath. Reading his book, "The Big Crash", he looks up a bit astonished that the neighbor's kid is approaching him with some food perhaps?

You give an awkward wave. "Hey Mr. Kreepnik."

"It's Krepnik," Dan raised his eyebrows. "Dan Krepnik."

You rubbed the back of your head, "Sorry, my bad..." You weren't sure how to handle this, but you just wanted to pull a trick on your sister. You probably didn't really need to tell Dan the truth, right? "Say, Dan, I was wondering if you wanted to try this drink in this here bowl?"

Real smooth...

"Sorry, John." Dan closed his book. "I don't do drugs."

"Oh, no, no, no!" You rose the bowl up towards his direction. "It's, uh, carbonated water, Mr. Krepnik, see?" You gave a fox smile. "I've been kind of addicted to making carbonated water and bought a carbon tank for my allowance, ya see. But apparently it's been driving my family crazy because I keep trying to get them to taste new mixes," you forced a chuckle.

"I'm honestly surprised you knew my name, Mr. Krepnik," you neglected to say you thought maybe he was a creepy stalker.

"I mean," Dan fiddled his fingers through the pages of his book. "You knew mine, right? Sort of." He gave a friendly snort. "Maybe you were to young to remember," the scraggly man points up in your direction, "but when we were both much younger, my family used to attend your family's birthday parties and stuff."

Ehhh, maybe you feel a little bad for calling him, "Da Kreepo". Subsequently, you notice some red stains on his cheap navy blue tee he got for free from a 5k. The man doesn't shave and doesn't really talk to anyone or go out of his house. You might be judgmental, but you're righteously judgmental in your mind.

"I like how you're making your own carbonated drinks. It's very cool." Dan gives a thumbs up. "I'll take a drink. Lemme go grab a cup!" He turns toward his door.

"Wait!" You push the bowl closer. "This is a clean bowl that I prepared specifically for one person. You gotta drink it in one go to get the authentic flavor!"

"That's a little unorthodox, but let's give a shot," Dan says, chugging down the bowl completely. "Hm, it really does taste like cherry," He says as vision gets dizzy.
