Chapter #5
Departing.
by: Unknown
"Hah, well if that's how you feel," Freya agrees with a smile, watching as 'Elie pulled herself up from the chair once more.
Taking only a moment to collect her sidearm, Freya falls in line to the side and a few steps behind the princess, her "proper," position, as the two of them make their way through the all but empty halls towards the Palace's garage, passing only the occasional servant or solider on the way. The gorgeous crystal hallways, lined with works of art and trophies of war, slowly give way to more subdued construction; though still made of the same diamond-like substance.
As they arrive there are a few of the "small" ships belonging the royal family still parked in their respective places, while along one wall a large number of jetpack-looking apparatuses hung in neatly ordered rows.
"What do you think, M'lady. Would you prefer to take one of the ships?" Freya asked.
Aquaelie considered that for a moment. The vessels themselves were relatively cramped affairs, though these were down right palatial compared to other enclosed craft her people used, and carried all the amenities of home.
On the other hand, the lift-packs small size made them even quicker, and there was a certain appeal to flying free of any enclosure with the solar winds in her hair, nothing between her, the stars, and her soon-to-be subjects.
In the end, Aquaelie decides to take her first jaunt away from home...
