The sun glimmered off the surface of the pool. Jenny and her teammates lined up for practice, a mix of excitement and nervous energy buzzing among them.
Coach Shimmerland stood at the edge, clipboard in hand, observing the girls with an attentive gaze. The warm water shimmered nicely and Jenny could not shake the feeling that something extraordinary was about to happen.
“Alright, girls,” Coach Shimmerland called, the voice echoing slightly in the bright, humid air.
“Let’s start with some laps! Remember, focus on your technique and speed!”
The girls dove into the water. Jenny felt an exhilarating rush. She kicked off from the wall, her strokes feeling stronger and smoother than ever before. The sensation of the water against her skin was invigorating, almost as if it were alive. She glanced over at her teammates, noticing that they all seemed to be swimming faster than before, their movements fluid and powerful.
“Good job, everyone!” Coach Shimmerland encouraged, taking notes as the girls raced back and forth. “Keep it up! I want to see you pushing your limits today!”
As they continued, Jenny felt an odd sensation—her body felt lighter. Her movements more effortless. She could have sworn she was gliding through the water. When they took a break, she noticed that her swimsuit felt snug, but it didn’t register as anything unusual. The thrill of swimming overshadowed any discomfort.
“Alright, gather closer to the edge!” Coach Shimmerland instructed, signaling for them to come together. As the girls moved toward the pool's edge, Jenny felt a surge of energy. She even casually touched the bottom of the pool with her toes, an action that felt surprisingly easy.
Her teammates giggled and splashed around her, equally unaware of the marvelous changes taking place. They formed a small cluster, bobbing slightly in the water, their faces bright with excitement.
“Did anyone else feel that?” one girl named Zoe said her eyes wide with wonder.
“I feel like I could swim forever!” Shouted Kate and splashed water.
Samantha nodded, grinning. “Right? It’s like we’re full of energy!”
Coach Shimmerland watched them closely, noting the increased speed and agility of the girls without realizing they were also growing in size. They seemed to be getting taller, but to Shimmerland, they were just becoming better and faster swimmers.
“Focus on your breathing and keep those strokes long” the coach advised, leaning over the edge to demonstrate the proper form. “You’re all doing amazing! Let’s go for another set!”
As the girls dove back into the water. Jenny felt the thrill of competition bubbling inside her. She pushed off the wall with happy mood and racing alongside her new teammates. It felt as if the water was parting for them, celebrating their newfound energy.
As the practice continued, Jenny and her teammates swam faster, their laughter echoing against the tiles even louder than before. They are blissfully unaware of the magic unfolding within and around them.
Soon the coach Shimmerland asks girls gather next the edge again.
The girls obey and now casually walk in water and touch the bottom of the pool with their feet while moving closer the coach Shimmerland.
