Icy blue eyes slowly cracked open to reveal the wooden underside of the bunkbed that hung precariously above her. It had been a worrisome sight at first for obvious reasons but overtime became one she'd grown accustomed to.
The snow-haired heiress of the SDC carefully sat up before yawning a tired yawn. The sleep hadn't fully left her eyes, but she was surprised to see she'd woken up before the rest of her team. Normally she'd be the last one awake.
"That's odd." she said quietly. Weiss sluggishly reached for her scroll and checked the time before peeling back her sheets. She slung her legs over the side of her bed and stretched her arms after her feet settled on the hardwood.
She was awake now and might as well get ready. She walked over to the teams shared dresser and retrieved her underwear and a fresh towel. For once she was going to enjoy the hot water before the rest of her team.
She walked past the still asleep members of team RWBY and entered the bathroom. Once inside she flipped on the switch and turned on the water to the shower. She quickly stripped herself of her nightgown and took a moment to stare at her reflection in the mirror.
For some reason she felt something was... off. She still looked the same, sounded the same, and her reflection followed her movements. So why did she feel that something was amiss here? What was wrong?
She stared at herself for a few moments longer before finally giving up. Maybe she was just being paranoid? About what she didn't really know? She entered the shower and enjoyed a the feel of warm water against her skin.
------
Pain is what greeted Ruby Rose this morning, pain stemming from the fact that she'd fallen from her makeshift bunkbed. The silver-eyed girl groaned as she rubbed her now throbbing rump which had broken her fall.
"Ow! I fell on my butt!" Ruby whispered to herself embarrassed. She hadn't fallen out her bunk since she the second week of making the beds. Maybe she should've listened to Weiss and nailed some rails to the side of her bed instead of relying on a sheet like a tent.
Speaking of Weiss...
Ruby looked to the now empty bed with confusion. Weiss was awake? That was odd. She normally woke up first followed by Yang and then Blake. Weiss was always the last one awake in the morning. She had to literally use a whistle to wake her up sometimes.
"That's weird." she commented before the sound of running water caught her attention. She rose to her feet to see light underneath the bathroom door followed by steam. The young team leader put two-and-two together and concluded her partner was in the bathroom.
Maybe she was awake before her because she couldn't sleep and was still mad about the whole dust thing? Ruby still felt bad of course after realizing what her friend had been working on and had avoided her since, curfew notwithstanding.
She still needed to apologize.
------
Weiss sighed when she finally cut the water. There was just something so relaxing about the feeling of hot water against her skin. It helped her take her mind off things, like her partner destroying her dust experiment.
Weiss quickly tried to shake off the thought as there was no use in worrying about it now. She'd just have to start all over again or fall back on her plan B. She really wasn't looking forward to fall back on plan B.
She pulled back the curtain and grabbed her towel. She quickly dried off her still soaked body and and wrapped it around her petite chest. Oh how she wished they'd grow just a tad bit bigger. Even her own partner who was two years her junior had a bigger chest. It just wasn't fair.
No! No! She'd been over this numerous times and would not let her jealously take hold. Even if Ruby had a bigger chest and was slightly taller than her. Yeah, that was another thing that irked her. Without her heels she was 5' even and that was being generous. If she actually measured herself she would be about 4'11".
Weiss sighed yet again, she needed to stray away from these trains of thought.
*KNOCK*
*KNOCK*
*KNOCK*
Knocking? Someone else was awake? "Who is it?" Weiss asked.
"It's me... Ruby." the voice on the other side answered.
"Of course." she pulled her towel tight and without thinking cracked open the door. On the other side was Ruby still dressed in her nightwear looking nervous. "Can I help you?"
"Oh! Uh.." Ruby began rubbing the back of her head. Clearly she wanted to say something but was struggling. Weiss wonder if she was tripping over her words because she was scowling. Yang did say she did so without noticing.
"Yes...?" Weiss prodded. "Did you need something?"
"Well... I just wanted to say..." she started before trailing off. She blinked once, twice, thrice. Weiss was confused. "Say Weiss? When did you get taller than me?"
