William was quite hungry, but it had been so incredibly long since he had a drink of water. And the water that made up the oasis' lake looked so crisp and clear that he couldn't resist taking at least a few sips.
Approaching the lake, William set his sword beside him on the ground. He got down to his knees, took a pawful of water from the lake, and raised it to his muzzle. He tounged the liquid from his paw. It tasted cool and fresh. Although William knew of the risks of drinking raw water, he figured that the lake was pure enough that he wouldn't have to worry about getting sick or catching some disease from it. Getting down on all fours, he stuck his muzzle into the lake and began swallowing large mouthfuls of the fresh water, and the liquid started filling his empty belly.
