Zoe lays you on a changing mat and changes you. You want to be clean, so you let her change you. She coos softly at you and pats your tummy when she’s done, standing up.
“Stay there sweet pea, I’ll be right back.” She says, walking into her bathroom to wash her hands. You sit up and look around the room. There are a few baby things scattered around. Geez, they really prepared for this. You watch Zoe walk back into the room and she picks you up, carrying you back into the living room.
“Hey little one. We’re you so good for mama? I bet you were.” Kayla says.
“Wanna hold her, Kay?” Zoe asks.
“Yes.” Kayla says. Zoe hands you over to her. She cradled you with one arm over your back and the other under your padded bum. She bounces you gently and then walks into the kitchen, grabbing a beer from the fridge. You really wanted one too, but you were only 20, and the others were 21. Kayla takes her drink and brings you back to the living room, sipping her drink as she sits down.
Caroline and Zoe notice you eyeing the beer, and they laugh.
“Does baby want beer? You’re too little for that.” Caroline teases. You whine, and Zoe shoves your pacifier in your mouth.
“Hush baby girl. You’re not old enough, and babies can’t drink beer. Mama will go get you a bottle.” Zoe says, walking into the kitchen. She comes back a few minutes later with two more beers and a bottle.
“Thanks Zo.” Caroline says as Zoe hands her a beer. She cracks it open and takes a sip. Zoe hands the bottle to Kayla and she grabs it. She removes your pacifier and before you can say anything, replaces it with the bottle. You huff but drink the milk, thirsty. Kayla smiles and starts rocking you gently.
When you finish your bottle, Kayla holds you against her shoulder and pats your back. You burp, and rest your head on her shoulder. You look back over at Zoe and Caroline. Zoe hasn’t touched her beer, but Caroline is nearly finished.
“Alright sweetie, let’s go put you down for sleepy bye. Say night night to your aunties.” Zoe coos, taking you from Kayla.
“Night night Dee. Sleep tight.” Kayla says, doing a baby wave at you.
“See you tomorrow, pumpkin.” Caroline coos, giggling. You watch them get further away as Zoe carries you to her room, laying you down in the playpen. You whimper and reach out for her.
“It’s alright baby, mama’s right down the hall. Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.” She soothes you, popping your pacifier back in your mouth. You reach out to hold her hand and she smiles. “I’ll turn on your nightlight.” She says. She takes her hand and goes to turn on a small butterfly nightlight. She walks back over to the dresser and turns on a baby monitor. “Goodnight sweet girl, see you in the morning.” She says, walking out of the room.
You suck on your pacifier, trying to calm yourself down. It works, and soon you fall asleep.
When you wake up the next morning, you sit up and look around the room. Zoe is still asleep. You stand up and climb out of the playpen, walking out of the room. You see Kayla and Caroline asleep on the couch, and walk into the kitchen. You kneel down and look in the cabinet for a pan to cook eggs.
“Baby girl, what are you doing up?” Zoe asks, appearing behind you. You jump, startled. Zoe picks you up and carries you over to the couch. She sits and puts you in her lap, facing her. “Why did you get out of bed without mama’s permission?” She asks.
What do you do?
