The secretary escorts you to the gym. You make it to your "classroom" without incident. You are glad to be rid of the secretary from the front desk. You have a few minutes before students will be arriving. There is a tiny office just off of the gym that was pointed out to you as where the gym teacher/coach worked. You wander in and poke around.
You find a note on the desk that simply states that the kids are to play volleyball. It indicates that there are poles, balls, and a net in a storage room behind the gym. There is also a schedule and a roll sheet for every class period that you have students. "Easy enough" you say to yourself as you get to work setting things up.
You begin setting up the poles first. There are little trap doors embedded in the floor that you flip open and insert the poles. As you are setting up a few students start to trickle in. They wander into the locker rooms to change. You continue your work hoping to have everything done before the students file into the gym.
As you begin to string up the net you start to feel anxious for some reason. You can't explain why but you are uneasy and on edge. You want to do something but you aren't sure what. It takes you a while to realized that this isn't your feeling but is nevertheless coming from you.
By now most of the students have begun to file out of the locker room and are congregating.
