While you cleaned Alice's room you had some time to debate with yourself what was going on with you. You knew you hated chores and your own room back at home was in a far worse state than this, but for some reason not only you quickly agreed to clean Alice's room, but you weren't hating it at all. Were you growing up at last and realizing the value of having a clean room? Even if you did, you also felt a bit uncomfortable realizing that not only you were not hating it, but doing it for Alice was giving you a weird thrill inside of you.
The reason you decided to stay with her wasn't only because you both were the same age, but because she was cute and had weird but cool interests unlike Marisa who was just a sports girl or Anna that would probably just want to play dolls the whole time, but beyond that, you knew you shouldn't be feeling happy for picking up after her, specially after she remarked this wasn't a favor or that she needed the time for something important, but that she would be lazing around downstairs. And you definitely knew you shouldn't feel a bit excited after picking up her underwear, socks and even some of her shoes, something about the slight smell coming from those clothes in particular was arousing you which you thought was just wrong.
Once you finished with the clothes and fixing the bed you went on to sort out your own clothes when you noticed someone coming into the room.
"You're here! You didn't even say hello!" You turned your head and looked at Marisa coming closer to you
"Oh hi Marisa, argh don't do that!" You greeted your cousin before she put you in a bearhug and squeezed a bit too hard. It seemed she still was fully invested into sports.
"Why? Can't wait to wrestle with you again" Marisa said before trying, and succeeding, in lifting you a bit off the floor before releasing you. You didn't love the idea, but knew you would have to do it at some point and wondered if you could still be able to match her strength.
"Right..maybe later" you said uncompromisingly and went back to sorting out your stuff
"What have you been doing? Haven't seen you at all since you arrived" Marisa sat on the bed and asked you
"I guess I was just too tired and crashed here after I arrived" you excused yourself. While you were putting your clothes in the free space of Alice's dresser you noticed they were a bit messy too and felt a weird urge to sort them out too, but of course you weren't going to do it in front of Marisa.
"Huh.. Lucky you she cleaned her room for once, she never does" Marisa laughed
"Yeah, she asked me to help her with that" you blurted, feeling a bit proud again for reasons you couldn't understand. Sure doing chores was mature, not bragging about them
"Really? you should do mine too then" Marisa joked
"S-sure" you stammered before you could stop yourself. Again you didn't know what was wrong with you, Marisa was clearly joking, why did it feel nice to say you would clean her room too?
"Anything to not wrestle huh?" Marisa kept joking, thankfully not finding it weird that you agreed to clean her room too.
"Right..." you said with some shame, cursing yourself because the thrill disappeared as quickly as it appeared and now you just had more things to do.
"Well if that's the case you will also do a thorough clean of the basement where I practice, mom has giving me crap about cleaning that place but I just don't have time for that. Is that clear?" Marisa stood up and looked at you intently, clearly not joking anymore. All those things you felt back with Alice came back again, somehow with more strength now that Marisa was clearly not asking a favor but giving you an order. You would have preferred to just wrestle with her right now instead of having to do such a thing but you found that thrill impossible to ignore, and you also found impossible to hold Marisa's gaze with the way she was looking at you.
"O-ok" you said softly, avoiding her gaze and looking down at her feet. Marisa was surprised herself, when you looked at her face again she was raising her eyebrows at you
"Hmm.. Good. Let me know when it's done" was all she said before leaving the room with a bit of a confused expression that you mirrored. What was that? It was one thing to keep the space you were going to sleep clean, but now you had to do even more chores and worst, Marisa most likely thought you were a coward now which you weren't. You didn't love wrestling like she did, but you didn't want to let her boss you around just to not wrestle with her. Or did you? The strangest part is that you weren't exactly feeling fear when she talked to you, but a desire to help her instead. You wondered if you would have wrestled with her anyway if she insisted, and actually, you felt like you should ask her to wrestle with you because that's what she originally wanted.
You sighed and went back to sorting out the last of your stuff before deciding what to do next.
What happens next?
