"Um." you say, not sure about going to live with this woman you've never met before. "Would it be okay if I stayed here instead. You said I could do home school right?" Besides, if you stay you just might get a change to ask Julie out.
"That's fine honey." your mother says. "I'll start organising everything we need." It's clear that she didn't want you to move away.
She has all of the supplies ready and has begun preparing herself to be your teacher long before the summer holidays arrive.
When they finally do arrive, You make the most of the holidays, spending time you have with your friends. You know that you won't be seeing them again until at least the next holidays.
You can tell that the end of the break is coming as your friends begin disappearing, gone to get settled in at their boarding schools. Then it's over. Your friends are all gone and it's time to start the new school year. Even when you don't actually have to go to a school, it's depressing.
On the first morning of home-schooling you are woken by your mother pulling back the curtains. "Time to get up sleepy head." She says cheerfully. "I've got your breakfast ready, then it's time for class."
