Alex continued to watch the giant boy as he continued to change, and gather his things. She made sure to enjoy every second she had to observe him before he went to his next class (which she wasn't in, so she wouldn't be able to see him there). As she watched, she couldn't help but sigh and mumble a few comments about how cute he looked.
Unfortunately, even though no one could see her, Ian was close enough to be able to hear her. That was made possible by the speaker-like device Alex had on her body. She needed some way to be noticed by the enormous people around her, and this was the best way to communicate with others. She could also turn it on and off whenever she felt like it. Normally, when she secretly observed her crush, she had it off so no one could hear her as she made sounds and comments, but this time she accidentally turned it on.
So, the second Ian heard her, he looked up. He saw nothing above him, but he did recognize that voice. It was Alex, the girl from a couple of his classes who pretty much everyone in the school knew about because she was literally microscopic compared to everyone else, which honestly sounded like it would be terrifying. Yet, she still managed to have a mostly normal experience at school...with some advantages and disadvantages.
At first, he didn't know why she was here, but then he remembered something. During the few times they interacted, he had a feeling that she was interested in him. He wouldn't be surprised if she came in here just to stare at him. Maybe she even did this many times and he just didn't notice. And he thought he just heard her mumble something about him. He did think it was pretty weird, but, he didn't really care that much. It was her choice and she wasn't hurting him. Though, he still didn't have the same feelings towards Alex. She seemed nice, but they rarely spoke to each other and he didn't know enough about her to really develop an interest in being anything other than sort of friends at the moment. Also, their extreme size difference would probably make things...difficult.
Alex noticed him looking right in her direction and instantly became very embarrassed. She really didn't want him to ever find out she did this. He would probably think she was extremely strange and...and....she didn't know exactly what would happen, but she was sure it wouldn't be good.
She was desperately trying to think of a way to get out of this situation, when, surprisingly, she noticed that Ian wasn't that upset or startled. He actually smiled a little and waved at her before turning his attention back to other things.
(That went much better than I thought...) Alex thought to herself. Despite it not going horribly, that whole situation was still embarrassing. But seeing how nice he was about the whole thing made her like him even more.
Sadly, she'd have to wait a while before she could see him again. She watched as Ian exited the locker room and decided that she had to start going to her next class.
However, before she could leave...
