Once everyone had retrieved their first tray-full of food, everyone met backup to sit down and eat. Unfortunately that was a lot harder than it looked. The first person to sit was Christina as she was the person that could fit into the booth the easiest. Then Victoria joined her on her right. Then Alice joined in on her left. Melissa, Courtney, and Jenna all sat in chairs since they were too big for the booth. It didn’t take long for everyone to start eating. Christina looked around as her coworkers shoveled fatty foods into their mouths. Watching her coworkers eat, she couldn’t help but get caught up in all of the gluttonous consumption. She started to eat more and more. She had never realized how tasty the food was here. She hadn’t eaten such fatty food in so long. She had forgotten how good it all tasted. No one said anything. There was so much eating by the group of coworkers that all you could here was the deafening sound of chewing, swallowing, chair creaking, and drink sipping. Communication wasn’t made again until the trays were emptied and had to be restocked. After the first round of eating was done Christina was the first to comeback with her second course. Her second tray of food was much smaller than the mountains of food that her coworkers brought back to the table. Christina was a little surprised though when Alice came back with two hefty trays of food. One of which Alice placed in front of Christina.
“Cmon, sweetie don’t hold yourself back. You’re missing out on the fun.” Alice said. Christina hesitated at first. She always refused such excessive indulgence. But then she smelled the sweet, salty, fatty food on the tray. Maybe just once couldn’t hurt that much. She thought. She started to dig in. Some of the others at the table took notice and showed her their approval. Christina actually started to feel like part of the group. She happily ate with reckless abandon. She even got thirds. However as she made her way through her third tray of food. Her eating slowed. She had pushed her stomachs limits. Her coworkers hadn’t slowed a bit. All Christina could do was sit and digest. Despite the pain in her stomach she was very happy. She’d finally felt like part of the group. When the feast had come to a stop, conversation emerged. There was much praise for her eating. Christina realized how much she liked her coworkers and how foolish she was for judging their eating habits. What she didn’t know was that this was the day that would start everything for Christina. She had no idea What she was in store for.
