Courtney saw the box of chocolates, She scanned the office to see who might be looking at caught Bud's eyes before he looked down at his desk. She read the note. "Thank you it said. Signed Bud. Courtney smiled. "Sweet boy." she was thinking to herself how she might show her appreciation without encouraging gifts. She was proud of how she managed her crew and didn't want them thinking that they had to buy her support. Still she did love chocolate and lately she'd been trying to cut back on sufplus calories to keep her perfect size six figure. She put the box in her desk and strolled over to the coffee room and got coffee. She was learning to take it black with no sugar. There she found the girls on her team hovering around a box of lucious white cholocate chip cookies.
In the conversations she kept hearing them say 'Bud.'
"Who brought the cookies?' SHe asked innocently.
"Bud brought them." Sharon told her. "Do you believe it. He baked them himself."
"They are so good." Stacy added. "Try on."
Courtney smiled, :Maybe later," she said.
Later when she got her second cup the cookies were gone.
Back at her desk, Courtney pulled out the box of chocolates. "If I eat just one, it won't make any difference she said."
