This choice: Sure, they travel somewhere new. • Go Back...Chapter #4Sure, they travel somewhere new. by: Onlyonekey "Why the sudden interest? You don't even know my name." Greg spoke, finding a little odd that this random guy has just offered his assistance.
"Well....I'm kind of a knight in self-training so to speak, and I've seen you around the neighboring villages." Jacob spoke with a sheepish laugh. Greg squinted his eyes at him.
"So you've been stalking me?" Greg accused, causing Jacob to rapidly flail his arms about.
"W-What?! N-No no! Nothing like that! It's just that......"
"Just that what?" Greg asked, crossing his arms.
"Just that.....you look like a foreigner. No offense, but I can tell that you're not from this land. So...." Jacob scratched the back of his head, since Greg didn't look convinced. Still, Greg was curious, and despite not fully trusting him yet, had a thought.
"Let's sit down over lunch for a bit. I could use a break anyway." said Greg.
"Sounds good to me."
With that, Greg moved them over to a nice area of the village, finding themselves a good spot to have a little lunch. Greg was pretty adept at this point of making lunches on the go. Thankfully, so was Jacob.
"By the way, you never even told me your name." spoke Greg as he took a bit of his sandwich. Jacob's face went a little red with embarrassment.
"Heh...guess I forgot....I'm Jacob. I'm from the main capital of this land, traveling about for experience." Jacob explained.
Greg nodded in understanding. "Pleasure then. I'm Greg, and I'm from Kirada."
"Kirada? Hmm, definitely not in this land." spoke Jacob.
"Well no, I came through an Outrealm Gate." said Greg.
"Oh, I've heard of those. Never been through one myself though." said Jacob.
"I've only been through it once, coming from Kirada to this land." said Greg. "I actually haven't been traveling for very long. Only a couple of weeks or so."
"Interesting." said Jacob. He paused for a bit as he finished his own meal. "Well, I can say for sure that you're a man who knows what he's doing, and frankly, I could go anywhere right now. Guess that adventurous vibe of yours stood out."
"You don't say. Well, I will admit that it's been a bit boring by myself. I guess you can tag along." said Greg as he got up. "Though, the minute you begin to feel like dead weight, you're on your own."
"Oh, is that how it is?" smiled Jacob. "Well, we'll see who ends up dead weight partner."
Greg just smirked as he accepted the dark knight's handshake. As he didn't want to waste too much time, Greg insisted on getting moving. Besides, it was a good way to work off lunch. With that in mind, the two of them set out from the village, though Jacob wouldn't shut up about his time in the capital city. Needless to say, Greg got annoyed quickly.
Anyway, after about half an hour, Greg spotted another Outrealm Gate in the distance.
"Huh, so there's even more of them." Greg spoke to himself.
"Should we go?" asked Jacob.
"Well, I think I've seen enough of this world for a while. Might be worth it to check out others." spoke Greg.
"Hmm, true enough."
With that said, the two of them walked into the gate, though it wasn't too long before it engulfed them in light. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
