Better be careful what you are doing...

Tommy stared at the console in front of him, still a little bit lost in his thoughts. For a brief moment he looked over to his friend, then back again on the buttons. “Well, whatever...”, Tommy thought to himself, now or never.

Slowly Tommy began moving his right forefinger in the direction of the big red button, the one which would start the sequence. A few seconds later his finger touched the surface of the button, but the moment Tommy felt the cold plastic on his fingertip, he stopped it right there.

“What's the matter, dude!?”, Eric suddenly spoke out in a bored way, “Anything special to happen now, or what?”.

The sudden speaking of his friend nearly let Tommy press the button. He felt his body wince for a tiny fraction, just like you would when you were scared by something, or someone, in an abrupt way, and by that he removed his finger again.

“Don't scare me like this, you idiot, this is delicate stuff, I have to concentrate me.”, Tommy said in an unfriendly way.

“Jeez...”, shaking his head a few times with his head and eyes still fixed on Eric, Tommy began moving his finger again to the red big button.

But moving his hand over the panel, and having his eyes still fixed on something else, Eric in this case, Tommy didn't notice he was about to bump his fingers towards one of the panel's sliders, and when his finger touched it, he accidentally moved the slider a little bit more into one direction than it was set to.

The moment Tommy felt his fingers touch something on the panel in front of him, he looked back on it. "Damn...", Tommy thought, "did I change something?", inspecting every button and every slider for a few moments, but couldn't really notice anything different than it was set just a moment ago.

“Delicate stuff?”, Eric suddenly spoke out loud again, “Wait a minute, what are you doing there actually, maybe this whole thing isn't a good idea anyway.”.

The moment Eric said this, Tommy saw his friend beginning to leave the circle. Fearfully Tommy's mind started to panic. This started out so perfectly. Tommy actually was surprised how easy it was to get his friend in the circle, without telling him what the machine did.

But now it was all to break apart again in seconds, of what he had planed the whole day.

His brilliant plan... of course 'brilliant' was not really the right word in this matter, but for a 14 year old boy it was 'brilliant', and in his carefree and careless teenager mind, there was nothing to worry about, nothing which came to him which could go wrong, if anything at all could go wrong.

For him it was just a fun thing, and of course Eric would like it too. He never thought it along more the point of shrinking his friend to the size of a play toy.

What would be wrong about this? Eric, maybe after being a little pissed at first, would start to like this soon enough, and then they both could play the whole afternoon some great games, and by the evening, he would grow him back. What could be even wrong about this? It would be sooo much fu...

“No... Stop! Don’t move! Stop right where you are! It's dangerous for you to leave the circle!”, Tommy suddenly came up with a fast lie to prevent his friend of leaving the circle.

“Huh? Dangerous? What's dangerous? Why is this dangerous? What is this thing doing anyway!?”.

Tommy knew he wouldn't be able to hold back Eric any longer. There wouldn't be any time left to go through with this. Tommy pressed the big red button. Now or never...
