Sable's ears perk up, and you grin. She heard you. The hedgehog turns off her sewing machine and looks around confusedly.
"That sounded like the Mayor," she muttered. "But... Much quieter than usual. Maybe the Mayor's outside?"
You call her name again, and her ears twitch. She looks around some more. Her snout twitches as she tries to sniff you out, and then, finally, she happens to look down. Her dark eyes stare down at you, and she remains looking at you for quite a few seconds. You wonder what she's thinking.
"I... I must be imagining things," she stammers at last. "Maybe Mable is right... Maybe I'm actually not getting enough rest."
You call out again, and Sable's eyes widen. "No... I'm not just imagining it... Did... Did the Mayor actually..."
The hedgehog stands up from her seat and takes a big step towards you. You shake in fear as the floor shudders with her movement, but you remain still, allowing the giantess to examine you. She gets down on her knees and stares down at you with a look of awe on her freckled face.
"You actually shrunk!" Sable says. "But... That's... How did that even happen?"
You shrug, and the hedgehog puts a paw to her chin, falling into thought.
"This is just bizarre... Okay, um... Mayor, please hold still."
Then, Sable reaches down for you with a white-furred paw. You're suddenly terrified at the thought of being grabbed, but you can't move. The anthropomorphic hedgehog's paw reaches you, its stubby digits curling around you in a tight fist. You squirm instinctively, but get a hold of yourself and stop quickly, allowing Sable to lift you off the floor and up to her face. You stare into her dark eyes as she stares at you inquisitively.
After a few moments, Sable stands up and goes back to her seat, still holding you in front of her face. She sits back down and lowers you to the desk that her sewing machine is sitting on, and releases you from her tight grasp. You look up at her, glad that she didn't choose to crush you in her fist... but also scared of the fact that you are small enough to be held in a singe one of her paws in the first place. Being this small is frightening, indeed.
But will Sable act cruel, and make it even more frightening, or will she be a gentle giantess and seek to help you?
