Donovan was just going into his senior year at high school, and he already had a lot on his plate. He had considered taking a job at a woodworking workshop after the year was out, seeing as he had the skills, yet his parents had wanted him to go to college.
He wasn't the most attractive boy in the world, although with a new haircut there had been much improvement. He had short brown hair with a few small streaks dark blonde in the front due to being in the sun a lot. He had green eyes and a good build. Yet, he wasn't all too muscular in the chest of stomach area, being 140 pounds. He had slightly muscled arms, and very muscular legs. His face wasn't too unattractive, yet there were spots of acne to the left of his chin. There were dark bangs under his eyes from being over worked at his summer job and not being able to get enough sleep at night.
Donovan yawned as he opened his locker at school. He was wearing a brown hoodie with a gray T-shirt underneath. He had decent looking jeans, or at least he thought so. "I should have worn shorts, it's eighty degrees outside." He thought to himself as he put his newly found Forensics textbook into his locker. "Oh look! There's Donnie! I haven't seen him all summer!" He heard his friend Joel say. He turned around, expecting to see him right behind him, yet he was at the other end of the hallway.
How did he hear him so clearly? Had he yelled? No, if he'd yelled then everyone would be looking at him. Then he had a thought that made his stomach drop.
Was his schizophrenia coming back? He hadn't been fooled by the voices in his head for years. In fact, he hadn't even heard any voices in his head since his therapy had stopped. He'd met other people suffering from the same.....condition....and they had explained how sometimes new voices and images popped up.
"Hey there, Oneida." Joel said as he came closer with their mutual friend Kevin. Joel had a Texan accent, whereas Donovan had an Upstate New York accent. the odds of them ending up going to school together in Delaware were quite surprising to say the least. Kevin was the only local amongst the trio. They all called each other nicknames based on where they were from. Donovan was Oneida, being from Oneida County in New York. Joel was Tex or Texas, being from Dallas Texas. And Kevin was either called Townie or Deli. Most people called Kevin anyways because he worked at the local Deli.
"How's it goin' Texas? How's your' summer been?" Donovan asked, cracking a smile to his anxiety.
( So basically Donovan's first power was super hearing. He had a problem with schizophrenia when he was younger but has it for the most part under control. He's anxious because he thinks he has a new voice in his head.)
