This choice: Hayden discovers super strength and flying powers • Go Back...Chapter #4Hayden discovers super strength and flying powers by: scriptboy That Saturday afternoon, Peter came over to Hayden’s house with a few printouts for a project from school.
“Hey, we need to start working on our science project. It says here we need to go out and spend a night looking at the stars, the planets, the moon and note sunrise and sunset times. We also need to write essays about what it’s like to go camping out in the woods!” Peter explained as he read the text off his paper.
“Plus, you can also use the experience to earn a camping merit badge!” Hayden grinned. “Alright, let’s do it! We’ll go out to the woods behind my house! There is a lake nearby and we can set up our tents there!”
Hayden and Peter packed two large backpacks with camping gear including enough food and blankets to spend the night. They put on hiking gear, including hats and boots, before setting out into the woods, which were behind Hayden’s house.
“Hopefully we’ll see some planets or something with this thing!” Peter smiled as he carried along a small telescope in a large bag, which he carried around his shoulder. “I don’t want to carry this dumb thing out into the woods for nothing!
The boys spent an hour hiking down a well-marked and familiar trail, which led them to the shore of a small lake. This was a familiar camping spot, which was surrounded by an open area and tall trees on all sides. The boys placed the stakes on the ground, and they set up two large tents, side-by-side, near the edge of the lake. Then, they lit a fire, and they sat down on two large logs, which were already set up since they had been used by other campers before.
Peter set up the wooden tripod and then he installed the small telescope. He began to gaze through the instrument when he spotted a bright light across the sky. The light was moving rapidly across the sky as if it was coming right over them!
“Yo! Hayden! I found something! It’s weird! Come take a look!” Peter shouted, as Hayden ran over to look through the eyepiece.
“What the heck is that? Is that an airplane?” Hayden wondered.
“I don’t know! Planes have flashing lights, and they fly in a straight line! This thing moves and then it slows down or stops before changing directions. It passed over us twice already! This is weird!” Peter shouted.
“You sure you’re not looking at some satellite or a space station or something like that?” Hayden wondered.
“Dude! They don’t move around like that! This thing went from right to left and now it’s moving right again! There’s something fishy about this thing!” Peter exclaimed.
The strange object seemed to move closer to the edge of the woods where the woods were, then it suddenly stopped and remained hovering far overhead.
Unknown to the two 13-year-olds, the strange object overhead was an alien spacecraft! On board the spaceship there were over a hundred alien beings, who resembled human beings on earth in many ways, but these beings were all bigger, taller, and much stronger than the average human being. Using large monitors and 3-D holograms, they were studying the geography of the planet from a distance. But they wanted to know more about the people.
“We need to find one earth being and enhance his physique so that he may become our Ambassador. Someone who will survive on our spaceship and on our planet, who will be able to tell us all about life on earth. This person must be able to give us a narrative about earth in another thirty to forty earth years!” the Captain said to the scientist.
“There is no guarantee that an earth human will live that long, Captain! We must enhance him even further, so that he may not get harmed by earthly objects or weapons. He must also have superior intelligence and strength, so he will survive all those years!” the chief scientist explained.
“To the humans on earth, this person will be someone who will assist in eradicating criminals in the local area. But we want this human to gain knowledge over thirty years. So, he must be a young person right now!” the Captain suggested. “If the person looks like someone who is helpful to all other humans, then they will trust him and accept him!”
“Aye. Captain! But where we will find a young person whom we can enhance with our strength and intelligence?”
“Captain! There are two earthlings alone in the woods below!” one of the navigators shouted. “They are near the small lake below us!”
The Captain leaned over and observed the image of Peter and Hayden on the hologram before him.
“They are both about thirteen earth-years old!”
“Perfect! Send a crystal pad down with a welcoming message in the English language. We will see which one of the boys has the most courage. The one who comes over to the crystal, will become enhanced with intelligence and great power, including the strength of a thousand humans!” the Captain smiled. “We don’t want our young Ambassador to ever get hurt after today! He will become indestructible, and he needs to be able to get around quickly. I think we shall give him the ability to fly. He will always be flying after today! Day and night!”
The Captain smiled as he watched the scene play out before him.
“Our muscular but strong, young human earth boy will know of only one way to explain his strength and powers to all other earthlings without causing a global panic: He is, what they all will call him, a superhero. He will become known as a superhero by all and everywhere he goes. This is how he will explain his powers and abilities as we wait for the time to come to receive him here, years from now.”
“Dude! Those lights haven’t moved in the last ten minutes!” Peter sighed. “I wonder what’s going—”
Suddenly, he spotted something coming down from the sky. It almost seemed like a rocket or a missile, which came from the strange object in the sky. It was heading right into the woods, where it landed a few hundred feet away, crashing in the woods with a loud bang!
CRASH!!!!!
Bright lights lit up the area in the woods in front of the two boys, who were now trembling with fear!
“WHOA! Hayden! Did you see THAT?” Peter shouted.
“Holy smoke! Something came falling from the sky!” Hayden screamed.
“Let’s… Let’s get outta here, dude… Maybe those are… ALIENS!” Peter said, shaking in his boots.
“Peter! I wanna go see it! Let’s go check it out!” Hayden said, feeling nervous since he was more curious than scared.
Peter looked on with nervousness and fear as Hayden continued to walk towards the bright light, coming from deep in the woods. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
