Walking out of The Nexus was the first of what Lisa felt would be many strange sensations over the next few weeks. Her heals clicked rhythmically on the tile floor as she walked through the lobby, drawing eyes that simply responded to the sound. Once most people in the lobby saw her, they looked away, back to whatever magazines they were reading or their smart phones. Male eyes, however, she noticed lingered longer, particularly on her bust and hips. It was a strange feeling, but one she found herself almost enjoying.
Stepping into the bright evening sun of the parking lot, she began to fumble in her purse for a pair of sunglasses before realizing that the lenses of the prescription glasses she wore were adjusting to the light. Walking out into the parking lot, she clicked the button on her car keys and followed the 'chirp' until she found herself at a recent model Lexus, neatly maintained and freshly washed.
"Wow," she said, sliding into the soft leather interior. "They weren't kidding about the kind of people who could afford this kind of vacation."
Taking a moment to sit in the car's air conditioned interior, Lisa flipped through the folder of information, looking for the most important bits.... address, immediate schedule, relationships. There, perhaps, the file was a little sad. Significant Other: None. Best Friend: Hanna Dawson, Other Friends: None. Was Angela really this lonely? There were pictures of co-workers, lists of things that were coming up at work in the next month, but Lisa skipped over that, looking only for things that would be relevant for the weekend. She could study up for Monday later.
Hobbies: Wine collecting, reading, yoga, and photography. Well, none of those sounded too boring, and the wine part would be fun, especially since Lisa wouldn't be old enough to buy her own alcohol for another three years! She also found her home address, a nice, upscale condo on the tenth floor of a thirty story building, on the west waterfront.
Oh, and it looked like Angela had left her a personal note as well....
