This choice: Enter Emily Chan, 28 year old first time mother • Go Back...Chapter #4Enter Emily Chan, 28 year old first time mother by: Wolfer   Lisa slowly but groggily woke up. The first thing she noticed was that she was now in a different room than when she fell asleep in the transference pod and she how different she felt. The room she was now in looked more like an x-ray room in a hospital. There were several medical looking devices in the room with diagrams of various parts of the human body hanging on the wall. Lisa struggled to sit up, but managed to do it slowly. Before she could get to her feet, another woman dressed similarly to how Tina was dressed walked into the room.
"Ms. Hale.. I mean Mrs. Chan, I need you to wait while I check your vitals." she said to Lisa. The woman looked to be older than Tina was, probably in her mid forties. Unsure of what to do, Lisa meekly said "Okay" as the woman rolled a small machine over to where she was sitting and began checking her vitals. While the woman was busy strapping the cuff of the blood pressure machine to Lisa's arm, Lisa thought about how different she felt. Currently, she felt like she ate too much and felt bloated. Yet she was extremely hungry. Like she hadn't eaten anything in over a day. Her feet felt swollen and her vagina felt worse than it usually did when she was getting ready to start a bad period. Overall, she felt like she could handle this as long as she didn't have to run or do cheerleading.
After a few minutes, the lady who Lisa still didn't even know the name of finished all her tests. Lisa's blood pressure, pulse, temperature and breathing were all "normal" according to the woman. Once she finished putting away the blood pressure machine and other medical devices, she helped Lisa onto her feet. Lisa was glad for the help since her legs felt like Jello. The woman finally opened up to Lisa and introduced herself. "I'm sorry Lisa. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Eleanor and I work for the Nexus as an obstetrician in the Surrogate Mother Program. I don't know if Tina told you about who I was, but I will be with you for the next several months for when you go into labor."
Lisa looked down at herself, noting that she was wearing a different hospital gown that had small pink patterns on it and placed her hand over her flat stomach and said "I don't think I'll be going into labor anytime soon. I don't even look pregnant." Eleanor chuckled and said "Oh, you're quite pregnant Lisa. Mrs. Chan or rather you are 37 weeks along. When I checked her this morning, she was already beginning to dilate which means the baby could come any day now." Lisa did at first think that this woman was wrong, but how her stomach and vagina felt, she did have to waddle like a pregnant woman would down the hallway. Luckily, Lisa didn't have to travel very far as the room she was to be staying in was nearby.
Eleanor showed her into her temporary room, which looked pretty much like how Lisa would expect a single bed hospital room would look like when people paid extra money for the privacy. "This room and others like it will be where you'll be staying while you're in this program. There is a call button beside the bed over there if you need anything or feel as if you're going into labor. I'll leave you to get settled in and stop by later with some food for you." Eleanor said before walking out of the room and down the hallway.
Lisa took a quick look around the room. The floor was white with large waxed tiles like hospital rooms normally were and the room had only basic furniture. There was a large TV mounted on the wall and a desk in the corner with a computer on it. The bed was your basic run of the mill hospital bed that could recline and had wheels to be carted out if need be. The mattress looked thin and not very comfortable looking. Still, Lisa didn't think this was going to be that bad. She was getting paid quite a bit of money to lounge around, eat food and probably binge watch television. In fact, she wanted to see what shows were available to watch after she used the bathroom. Right now she needed to pee since without warning, her bladder felt strained.
Lisa waddled into the en suite bathroom and closed the door behind her. She was at least glad the bathroom wasn't super tiny like most were in a typical hospital. This one even had a full sized bathtub with water jets in it like a Jacuzzi. As Lisa stared at it for a moment, she realized that it was a Jacuzzi bathtub. She thought about trying it out later tonight before going to bed. But as she waddled towards the toilet, something in her peripheral vision caught her attention. As she turned her head she saw herself in the mirror... except it wasn't her in the mirror. It was an Asian woman! a very pregnant Asian woman wearing the exact same hospital gown she was wearing! As she faced the mirror, the Asian woman mimicked her movements perfectly. She even had a similar worried face as Lisa probably had.
That's when Lisa remembered the briefing and reflections. It all made more sense now after she seen it with her own eyes. She was now inhabiting this Asian woman's body while waiting to give birth in her stead. Lisa wanted to check out her reflection more, but her bladder was about to burst. Not wanting to pee herself or onto the floor, Lisa waddled over to the toilet, sat down and peed. As soon as she was finished, Lisa struggled to stand back up before waddling back over to the mirror. She still couldn't get over her reflection. To the rest of the world, this is how everyone else saw her. As an Asian woman with plain short hair. She looked to be a few inches shorter than Lisa was and her face looked nothing like Lisa's did. Still, Lisa find it amusing to make faces and gestures and see the Asian woman in the mirror copy her perfectly.
Eventually, Lisa got more curious about her body and the woman in the mirror. Between her large swollen belly and the baggy hospital gown she wore, Lisa couldn't compare the differences in their bodies. Looking over towards the door and making sure it was closed, Lisa looked back into the mirror and saw the Asian woman make a cheeky grin before she pulled the gown off and dropped it onto the floor by her feet. The woman in the mirror now stood completely naked before Lisa.
Aside from the obvious beach ball sized belly she had, her body was quite different than Lisa's was. Her skin looked to be a shade or two darker than Lisa's skin was and her limbs were skinnier. Lisa had to guess that the woman had similar sized breasts as she did, but they currently looked as swollen as how her breasts currently felt. Lisa looked down and gently cupped one of her breasts when milk came oozing out of her nipple and began dripping onto the floor. Looking back into the mirror, she saw the pregnant Asian woman cupping her breasts like Lisa was with a perplexed expression on her face. Not wanting to make a large mess, Lisa let her breast hang free and looked back into the mirror.
The woman's belly was definitely large and her belly button was sticking out. Below it, Lisa could make out a mane of black hair covering her vagina. Bringing her hand down, Lisa gently touched her own shaven vagina as she watched the Asian woman in the mirror copy her movements. Since her vagina was quite sore and irritated, Lisa refrained from checking out her vagina. Having her curiosity sated for the time being, Lisa decided that it would be best if she put the hospital gown back on and went back into her temporary room. However, she cursed herself for throwing the gown onto the floor and not hanging it on a towel rack or one of the hooks on the wall. It took her a couple minutes and several tries to bend over far enough to pick it up off the floor.
Once fully dressed, Lisa went back into the room and rolled herself onto the bed and turned on the TV....  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
