I woke up to find myself in unfamiliar surroundings. It appeared to be a kitchen, but not the kitchen at my house, and it couldn't be at the school.
Suddenly, I heard a scream. A tether plump woman came running into the room.
"What's going on? Who are you? Why am I a girl?" she shouted.
I looked down at myself to see a small, female body wearing a yellow shirt that said "Queen" with a little crown and black capris. I screamed, a high pitched, little girl scream.
"Ok then, I guess I'm not the only one, "said the woman, "my name's Tyler. Who are you?"
"Tyler? "I asked, "Tyler Harris?"
The woman nodded. "Yeah. Who are you? "
"It's me, Nick, "I said.
"Nick? You're a little girl now!" Tyler exclaimed.
I sighed. "I know. I guess you're her mom."
"Ok, let's find out who we are."
Tyler found the woman's purse and pulled out a wallet.
"Ok, my name's Diane Latchley. According to this picture, you're Diane's eleven year old daughter, Hilary."
"Ok, "I said, "now what the hell's going on? Why did we just randomly swap bodies with these people? " I didn't like this body one bit. I could barely see over the kitchen counter.
"I don't know, "said Tyler. It was weird seeing your friend as a mid thirties age woman, "let's see if there's anything on the news."
He turned on the Tv, and switched to a news station.
"For those of you just tuning in, the public is starting to call this event 'The Big Swap' said a man on the Tv, "it has seemingly swapped bodies of the world population, and a whopping 95% of the world have found themselves in different bodies. At 10:43 this morning, the strange occurrence started in Belgium and made it's way around the rest of the world, hitting America at 10:45. A single island in the u.s. territories region has reported that not a single swap occurred on the island."
"Also, "said the female anchor, "world governments are frantically racing to find out who everyone has become, in order to get swapped individuals back to their loved ones. It has been confirmed that this is not the action of any known terrorist orginization, and Belgian officials have not realeased any statements of strange sightings or activity within the country. I'm Brent Herkel, bringing you the real news."
"And I'm Kristine Johanson, "said the man, "more details on this story as it emerges."
"Are they saying we could be stuck like this?" I asked.
"Look, man. Calm down. They didn't say that,"said Tyler.
"Ok, ok, ok, "I said, "so do we have any idea where we even are? We could be in another country, for all we know!"
"I don't think so. The woman's liscence plate said Indiana... we might still be in Blackwood."
I felt a rush of relief. "I can still find my mom and Claire, "I said, "come on. Let's find our families.
