A/N: This story starts a couple weeks before the Titans first met Blackfire and has Doctor Light be one of the first villains the Titans met. Also the point of view of the story will change so bear with me.
"Ugff!" I let out as I was blasted backwards. I felt kind of dumb for being the first one to be blasted back by Doctor Light. I really should have been paying more attention to my surroundings. I winced as I crashed through a window and into what I thought was a shelf. "Why I'm going to- Oh crap!" I started before feeling some liquids fall on me and hear glass shattering next to me. As I coughed from having some of the liquids land in my mouth, I looked to either side of me and saw flasks and beakers shattered. Immediately I stood up and ran over to an emergency shower and turned it on to rinse off whatever chemicals I got on me. I didn't know what kinds of chemicals had landed on me but there was the possibility they were toxic to humans. I used the eye rinse spouts to fill my mouth with water to rinse it completely. As I rinsed myself, I ripped off my clothes which were still wet from the chemicals and threw them in the bio-hazard disposal bin and made sure to rinse my entire body. When I was sure the chemicals were gone from my body, I turned around to find something to cover myself. I turned around to see that I had landed in a lab that was connected to a clean room. I pressed the button next to the shower declaring a bio-hazard and immediately entered the air lock for the clean room and put on one of the biosuits. With the suit on, I allowed the decontamination jets to clean the suit before leaving the air lock.
As I stepped out of the air lock, I heard the other Titans shouting my name. 'They must not have seen where I landed after getting blasted.' I shouted to my teammates, "I'm over here guys, but don't come in!" I walked over to the window where I saw Starfire was the first one to reach me. Robin was securing Doctor Light to a light pole for the police to find while Cyborg and Raven were running towards me. Starfire stopped on seeing what I was wearing and adopted a look of confusion. God, she looked so cute when she was confused
"Friend Beast Boy, why are you doing the wearing of that suit instead of your uniform," Starfire asked. Raven and Cyborg arrived and adopted similar looks on seeing my current attire.
"I crashed into a shelf filled with chemicals and ended up getting doused. I've rinsed myself off but I don't want to take any chances," I said while climbing out the window. Starfire still looked confused, and utterly cute at the same time, Robin looked just as confused as Starfire after he finally came over, and Cyborg looked concerned.
Raven smirked and teased, "Maybe the chemicals will turn your skin red." Robin's eye's widened at her statement as he realized my reason for wearing the suit.
"Or maybe they'll kill me," I responded to Raven in a serious, no-joking tone. Raven blinked in surprise at the statement, but whether it was at the seriousness of it or the thought of me dying or even both I wasn't sure.
Robin said, "You need to get back to the infirmary. The chemicals you were doused in could be doing damage even now."
"I know, Raven teleport me to the infirmary, Cyborg run a scan of the room and see if you can find out what I was doused in. Robin and Starfire contact the people who run this facility and try to figure out the same. I know I'm not the leader but please listen to me," I told my fellow Titans, who I guessed were surprised at the seriousness and intelligence of my orders. Starfire, Cyborg and Raven looked at Robin for confirmation, which they received in the form of a nod. Cyborg walked past me towards the room to do the necessary scans, while Starfire picked up Robin and they flew to the main office of the facility.
Raven floated to me and asked, "Since when have you been so responsible and smart? The things you're having the other Titans do are the kind of things you'd expect a good leader to have them do and you're, well you." I closed my eyes in thought as I came up with an answer. A few seconds later I opened my eyes and gave my answer.
"I've always been this smart. I act the way I do because I don't want to be like Robin. Always serious, never any time for fun. I think it's better to live a fool's life than to not have a life at all," I answered truthfully. Raven blinked in surprise at such a mature and understandable answer. She gave a small smile before returning to her blank, emotionless face. Raven surrounded us with her ebony black energy and the next thing I know, we're in Titan Tower's infirmary.
I went into the quarantine room and started to take off the biosuit. I took the helmet off before I turned to Raven, who was in the airlock wearing her own biosuit and waiting for me to finish taking off my suit, and warned, "You might want to turn around. I had to throw all of my clothes in the bio-hazard disposal bin back at the laboratory, so I'm not wearing anything under this suit."
Raven's eyes widened at my warning and she adopted a blushed face before she turned around out of embarrassment. I had a clear view of her face due to her having taken off her cloak when putting on the suit and the brief glimpse that I had of her blushing face confirmed something I had been thinking for a while: she was very cute when she was blushing. Raven thanked me, "Thanks for the advanced warning."
"Your welcome," I replied while starting to take off the rest of the suit. When I was finished I grabbed the blanket from the bed and used it to cover up my lower half. I stated, "Done and covered Raven." Said sorceress turned around and entered the room with her face back to its usual monotone. She took out a pair of tweezers and explained, "There might still be some of the chemicals stuck in your hair so I'm going to have to take a few of your hairs, as well as swabs of your skin."
"Some of the chemical got in my mouth but I didn't swallow them. Take some swabs of my mouth too," I informed her. Raven nodded and took the necessary swabs and samples. While she was taking some samples of my hair I absent mindedly flirted with her, saying, "You look really cute when you're blushing Raven." Raven blinked in surprise before blushing again and turning away to leave the room. Just as she was about to enter the decontamination room, she said, "Thank you... Beast Boy." She left and I got into a comfortable position on the bed, knowing it was going to be a while before I got out of here.
Who should we follow, Cyborg and his scans of the laboratory, Beast Boy in the quarantine room, Starfire and Robin in their investigations or Raven after learning this new side to Beast Boy?{b/}
