"There's got to be some kind of limit to my hunger," Rena mused. In thought, Rena's eyes flicked up to the clock, before going wide at the time.
"What? It's only seven?" Rena asked. She made to get up to look at the clock, but was weighed down by her heavy belly. Sighing to herself, Rena wrapped her arms under her belly and waddled over to the clock to get a better look at it. Sure enough, only an hour had passed since the catgirl had woken up.
"Wow," Rena breathed. "Whatever caused that weird amount of hunger aside, that's impressive. I wonder how much I actually ate?"
Shifting slightly to a more stable stance, Rena waddled to her bathroom, as she had a set of scales there. Even with her giant belly, Rena was able to pass through the door without touching either side, although just barely. It was a bit akward getting onto the scales so Rena could see her weight, but she managed. The scale churned slightly before spitting out a three digit number- 180.
"Fifty pounds in an hour," Rena noted. "That's... way more than should be possible."
Rena set her belly down on the bathroom skin so her could bring her hand up to her mouth in thought.
"I wonder if there's any limit to my stomach's capacity, considering I don't even feel full at the moment," Rena mused, her stomach growling as if on cue. A flash of inspiration coming to her, Rena pulled her phone out of her ruined pants pocket, dialing a somewhat familiar number. The phone ringed exactly once before the person on the other end picked up.
"Ah, good morning Rena!" A middle-aged male voice answered from the other end. "How are you doing this fine day?"
"I'm doing fine, Doctor Gast," Rena answered, leaving her unnatural hunger problem out. "I was actually going to do some research on a personal project of mine, and-"
"And you wish to use some of the lab's funds for your research?" Gast finished.
Rena nodded, although Gast couldn't see. "That's right, sir."
Gast made a thoughtful sound. Rena could picture in her mind what the scientist she was interning under was doing- running a hand through his black and gray hair. Dr. Vincent Gast was the world's most famous biologist. There was literally no one in the entire scientific community who didn't know who Dr. Gast was. And the best part was, none of his reputation rode off of other's successes. The only potential black mark on his records was a some arbitrary number of greats uncle of his that lived almost four hundred years ago, who was... not the most moral of people.
"Very well," Gast eventually said. "You have access to two percent of the lab's funds to use as you see fit."
Rena felt her heart skip a beat. Two percent of the lab's funds was enough to run an entire army with state-of-the-art gear comfortably for five years.
"Th-thank you, sir," Rena stammered out before hanging up. With shaking fingers, Rena dialed up the number of a nearby delivery place.
"I wonder how much I can eat?" Rena muttered to herself while her phone rang.

The answer to Rena's question was, predictably, a lot. Pizzas, sub sandwiches, Chinese, and many other kinds of food passed through Rena's lips and into her ever expanding stomach. Eventually, however, Rena started to feel full. However, she was determined to find the full capacity of her stomach. So, some time later, Rena finally found her capacity, her stomach throbbing in agony as one final noodle was sucked down her throat.
Through the haze of pain, Rena looked at the time. It was five in the morning, and according to the digitized calendar next to the time, Rena had started eating almost two days ago, and her belly really showed it. Rena sat on one side of her house, but she could feel the other side with her belly. It was so heavy that Rena couldn't move it. Somehow, however, Rena had gotten her scale to give her what she assumed was an accurate reading- 2480 pounds.
As muddied by pain as her thoughts were, Rena couldn't help but marvel at how much she weighed, almost two and a quarter tons! Rena quickly scribbled her weight on a nearby piece of paper before passing out from exhaustion and pain.
As Rena slept, her stomach gurgled, digesting the food inside rapidly as it shrunk down to a fraction of its size, distributing fat all over the catgirl's body.

Rena woke up and stretched, yawning as she did.
"That's weird... my arms feel really heavy," Rena said, her eyes still closed. When she opened them, she shrieked in surprised.
"I'm... I'm fat!" Rena shouted. "Fat" was a bit of an understatement, however. Rena's formerly slim frame was now extremely obese. Each of her breasts were somewhere around the size of her head, and her butt was about four times larger than her boobs. The "piece de resistence," however, was her belly, a massive gelatinous blob that threatened to overtake Rena's knees while she sat down.
Rena struggled to stand, her body unused to so much weight. The obese catgirl did eventually stand, and waddled over to her scales. When Rena had settled in a position in which she could see the scale's readout, she looked down and blanched. An even 600 on the display stared back up at her.
"So, if I remember correctly, I had eaten 2,350 pounds of food," Rena said. "If I now weigh 600 pounds, that means I gained 470 pounds overnight. So, unless something changes, I gain one fifth of whatever I eat in weight, apparently only while I sleep."
Suddenly, a loud sound distracted Rena.
