"You still have to go back inside to gather your books." Seeing your confusion, Sarah said. "You will be assigned a new locker right next to your sister's starting tomorrow."
The girl's school uniform consisted of a dark blue pleated skirt that stopped just above the knees, a light blue blouse, a dark blue sleeveless sweater and a pink ribbon bow. You always found it strange that the button and zipper were on the side but you had no difficulty putting it on. The socks that came with the uniform went up to your knees and were a bit harder to put on but you managed. After putting on the blouse, you looked in the mirror. A cute, shy little school girl stared back at you. "This is going to take some getting used to." Sighing, you said.
"You'll be fine." Kindly, Emily said. She was also wearing the school uniform. "Let's go clean out your locker and get home."
You nodded and followed Emily back into the school where you both walked through the crowd of students all getting ready to leave for the day. A few students raised an eyebrow seeing you but nothing more, at least at the moment. You reached your locker and cleaned it completely out with Emily's help. There really wasn't much there but you gave it a second carefully look as you would be getting another locker.
"It feels like I'm starting a new life." Wincing, you said.
"In a way, you are." Smiling, Emily replied. "Hopefully, this one will be better for you."
"What does mom think about all of this?" Curious, you asked.
Emily blushed. "Actually it was mom's idea." Softly, she said. "She was furious when she found out what the football coach said to you." She giggled slightly as you followed her towards the exit. "She told me to tell you she has a surprise waiting for you at home."
"Today has been full of surprises." Rolling your eyes, you said.
"Excuse me, are you new here?" A male voice asked.
