Can you help these poor mice survive, or will your decisions be the death of them?
This choice: You wake up to a crash. Someone has found your colony!  •  Go Back...
Chapter #4

It was a massacre.

    by: Flynn-Coyote Author IconMail Icon
You don't remember exactly when you fell asleep, but it didn't feel like long before a terrifying crash sounded, followed by the sound of tearing and splintering wood. You fell out of bed and looked up just in time to see a huge splinter of wood spearing straight towards you. You managed to roll out of the way just as it embedded itself into your bed. That was close...
But what the hell is going on? You try to get your bearings, everything is on a slant and you have to lean to remain upright. You can hear a faint gasp, like someone outside, before a voice follows it.
' You were supposed to open the door, not rip the whole thing down!' You recognized this voice, it was the muffled sound of Solace speaking to someone.
'It'll go back up.' Another voice replied. This was bad. Solace and another leona were out there, and they'd found Quill! Why was it that every time you finally got comfortable enough to call somewhere home, something had to come along and utterly ruin it. And every time this happened, someone you knew died...

'No!' You found yourself crying as the entire colony lurched again. Your shack splintered even more around you before finally collapsing as the entire place suddenly moves and rotates on the spot before slamming into a hard surface. The air is driven from your lungs and something solid slammed into your head. You couldn't see anything but a faint light through the dust. Light? Were you dying? Your head felt like you were after that hit...
'It's too late to worry about it now.' The second voice from earlier remarked, much louder and clearer this time. 'I'll borrow some tools and fix it later. Don't tell Dad, alright?'
'You're lucky he never visits.' That voice was Solace. You push your way clear of a pile of splintered rubble, waving the dust from your face and took a look around. Micen everywhere were crawling from the ruins that had been home mere minutes earlier. You counted just over a dozen... A few either hadn't made it, or were lucky enough to be not home when home had been found. Shit...
'It's so dusty.' A third voice sounded. This one was softer than the other two, but even so it terrified you because it could only mean that there were three leonas out there! Solace alone had been terrifying enough!
'We'll fix that...' The second voice replied. You heard a click and then a loud whirring noise filled your ears. It made you want to scream, to bury your head in the floor and not come back up. After a few moments you forced yourself to look up and saw the silhouetted form of a leona holding some kind of machine. It had an elongated nozzle like structure that seemed to be sucking the dust out of the air. Her form slowly became clearer, she was a leona of brown fur and light tan coloured hair, maybe blonde or maybe it was just the lighting. Two others were with her, Solace and a white furred leona you'd never seen before with a blue underside, almost as if she was Solace's opposite. The sight only prompted you and the others around you to struggle more but it soon became apparent that it wouldn't matter. The wall mounted cabinet that housed Quill was in its door, the back still attached to the wall behind Solace, and the rest of it forming the perfect prison for the colony's denizens. Even if any of you could have scaled those walls, you'd be plucked from your would be freedom by one of the monstrously sized she-cats above you.
'Are you excited?' The brown leona asked as the machine's horrible scream died down. You finally managed to push the rubble from atop you loose and scrambled to your feet. Most of the others had already dug themselves free and were either huddled in fear or trying to scale the walls without success. One was even trying to bury himself again...
'Oh, umm... Y-yes.' The white one replied. Solace's hand came down, snaring a pair of micen and silencing their screams as they were enveloped in her unkind fist. You saw the ears perk on White-Fur's head as Brown-Fur followed suit, scooping Ritler and someone else into her hand.
'Oh god, not like this.' You heard someone stammer, eyes widening in horror as you realized the voice was your own. Two twitching shapes could be seen in Solace's cheeks already, a tail dangling from between her lips for a scant few moments before it vanished with a loud terrifying gulp. Barely even two seconds later the second lump followed the first down.
'Shieki, come on.' Solace said with a smile and purr. 'Don't be shy. Look, grab that one.' You followed Solace's pointing finger to a young orange male. You didn't recognize him, he must have been new. White-Fur... Shieki, reached down and hovered her hand over his frozen shivering body as he stared with wide eyes back at her. Brown-Fur clicked her fingers impatiently, as if to snap her friend back to focus.
'Don't rush me, Risa.' Shieki replied, blinking her eyes and shaking her head. For a moment the orange micen looked as though he was ready to try running, but the white hand plucked him from his loacation amid a ruined shack and lifted him into the air.
'No...' You breathed. He was too damn young for this, he may not even be past juvenile yet. Your gaze sank to the skewered remnants of your bed as a soft, contented sigh came from above accompanied by disgusting wet slurps. You cringed as you heard the inevitable gulp...

The next minute was a blur. Your head swam with pain and your vision filled with stars. You were on the verge of passing out. Even if you could come up with some miraculous escape plan, you'd never be able to stay focused long enough to see it through. You let yourself droop, sliding back to your rump as the sounds of micen screaming, begging and falling silent to the horrible sounds of leonas suckling, chewing and swallowing followed. You wondered why you were even still alive at this point, surely they weren't sparing you out of some mercy? Maybe they thought you were dead? You hadn't really moved since you almost collapsed... Maybe...
Your world shifted suddenly as you felt something pinch your feet together. 'Hello little mouse, you look familiar...' It was Solace. You forced your eyes to focus, to look back at the smiling face of the leona about to end your life. 'Have we met?'
'Met...?' You managed, feeling the blood rush to your head as she dangled you upside down. 'Of course we've met! You took... Everything from me...'
         'Everything?' Solace smirked.
'Alec...' You muttered. It was the last thing you said before she lifted you over her face and lowered you into her waiting maw.

You felt her tongue, warm and mostly smooth but for a few lumps as it swooshed over and around your body. You wanted to struggle but there was no point this time. The best you managed was a frantic clawing of her tongue, accomplishing nothing as your claws simply slid across the slick surface with no purchase whatsoever. Her drool matting every inch of your body didn't help matters.
'Mmmh.' She moaned, before her head tilted back and her lips parted slightly. Immediately the light illuminated your location. You stared forward, the horrifying reality of your situation increasing tenfold at the unmistakable sight before you. The dark abyss of her throat, the glistening, flexing musculature and the hanging uvula dripping drool in anticipation of the motion about to come.
'N-Nooo!' You finally managed to scream as the pressure around you compressed your body into itself, forcing you into the leona's tight and warm throat. Your slicked fur made your passage quick and easy, dropping you into her stomach in short order. You landed on something goopy and twitching. After a moment you rolled over, wading through the bubbling acids and bumping the wall. As if on cue, the entire organ clenched and squeezed the contents around you. Another moan sounded next to you and you realized with horror that one of the other micen in here was still alive...
'H-help mee...' A woman's voice gasped. It was still too dark to see but you could hear her gasping for breath and felt her claws dig into your arm. Your feet slid along the stomach surface under the gastric liquids and you fell in up to your shoulders. Your instincts screamed at you to get out, to get away from the tingling on your body and away from the skinless corpses brushing against you... but where could you go?
'Help...' The voice was barely audible this time... The next thing you heard was the ripple of caustic fluids as they overlapped your ears...
