Danny held a small vial in his hand. There was a blue glowing liquid inside. The blue light shone evenly.
"Wow, that's really cool." Jake was stunned. "What is this?"
"I have no idea. I looked out my window last night when I saw the blue light in a bush. I went out and I found it." Danny told me.
"What's that note on it?" Jake pointed to the tag tied around the neck of the vial.
"A picture." Danny replied.
There was a varied human head in the drawing as he drank from the vial.
"Do you think this is something to drink?" Jake asked.
"I don't know. I didn't taste it. Too suspicious to try." Danny confessed. "But you can drink it if you want. Of course, only if you're not afraid."
"I am not afraid." Jake lied because he didn't want to look like a coward in front of his best friend. "If you don't mind that your cool night light disappearing in my stomach." He added as he tapped his stomach.
"Let it be yours." Danny held the vial to Jake.
Jake reluctantly took it. He didn't think Danny would give it up. But it was too late. He could no longer change his words. He slowly pulled out the stopper which sealed the vial and gently smelled it. He could smell a very concentrated sweet smell as if there was concentrated molten sugar in it. He slowly lifted it to his mouth and suddenly swallowed it with a gulp. He scowled. Jake had never felt such a sweet taste before. He loved sweet stuff like any kid but it was too much.
"I didn't think you really would." Danny was stunned. "What was it like?
"Sweet." Jake nods. "I think it would have been good if you kept it. The light was better than the taste." Then he pulled on his shirt and looked at his belly. "Fortunately, it doesn't shine."
"That would be weird." Danny laughed. "Look how late it is. I think we should go to bed."
