Anna reached the city park. She hate crossing it at night. Her petite frame made her feel vulnerable, especially when the park looked dark and sinister like today. Anxious she accelerated her steps. When she had half crossed the park she suddenly heard a deafening noise from above. Surprised she looked skyward to see a fiery trail rushing through the black night sky. Shocked she realized it was closing in on her position. The angry wail was becoming louder every second, until it was unbearable. Whimpering Anna covered her ears and buckled down. Like the flaming finger of an angry, acient god the object struck the ground several meters away from her, leaving a massive impact crater. Any obstacle was obliterated in the process. Merciless it tore through the treetops and bursted the treetrunks of the large old Oaks it hit, igniting several branches and leaves, despite the fact that it was still raining. The forceful impact made her teeth clatter and violently shook the ground like an earthquake. Still feeling numbed, not really knowing what she was doing, Anna approached the crater. Half-crouched and fearful she breathed the hot and muggy air, nervously biting her red lips. The rim of the crater emanated an ghostly purple light, obscured by the large pillar of steam rising to the sky from the centre of the crater. The unearthly lights flickered. Despite better knowledge Anna wanted to see the object, which had fallen from the sky. Her instincts seemed to scream at her to turn around and run, but her curiousness got the better of her. Slow but steady she crouched forward. It seemed like an eternity, till she reached the rim of the crater. The purple glow growing more intense every second. Anna held her breath and stepped into the steam. Instantly the steam made her cough and took her sight. She lost her balance and stumbled forward. Head first she fell. An hard impact drove the last air from her lungs, she rolled forward, getting cuts and bruises from the hard, craggy ground. Her slide was ungently stopped by a large dark object, she hit torso first. By now Anna was already near panicked. What had she thought. She could burn here, or suffocate... Wait why she hadn't already suffocated? Why was'nt the steam cooking her? Her fingertips gently brushed the smooth surface of the object. It was smooth and felt like marble. In a second all the pain from her fall was gone. Instead Anna felt an increasing heat. Like pins and needles. And then something diffrent. Comparable from the swelling one feels in his chest, when he takes a really deep breath. But it affected her from the tips of her toes to the top of her head. It was a good, ecstatic feeling.
