The kitchen was a nice, polished hardwood floor that lead to you sliding across it much more frequently than you'd have liked, but other than a few bumps, you got into the connecting hallway without any major problems. As you entered the hall, you began to hear voices. This must be where the daughters are, and nothing is more dangerous than a girl 10 times your size who doesn't know you are there. Trying to stay safe, you sidled along the siding, but the carpeting in the area was proving difficult. Seeing a clear area, you sprint over to it. You begin to use it as a path before a whirring sounds starts up. Feeling a breeze, you look down and realize that you're standing on a heat vent. As the air gets stronger, you get lifted in the air, unable to do anything other than float at about one foot off the ground.
As you float helpless, you hear the girls get louder, and watch as Eliza the 6 year old and Lydia the 4 year old come rushing into the hall, with a path that leads right over your vent. You scream and wave, but it is useless as you float there at the 6 year old's knee height. Her knee comes rushing in, and you grasp out wildly as you are forcefully shoved out of the wind current. You grab for her dress but fail, and her leg ends up kicking you forward, just far enough so her next step lands painfully on you. Her bare foot (which is still much bigger than you) uses your body as a launching pad, forcing you into the ground and leaving you to be trodden on by Lydia's foot, which is only a couple of inches bigger than you. You can immediately notice a difference in the pain levels, and in one more area. The 4 year old's foot was sticky, probably after stepping in a spill. As her foot lifted off the ground, you went with it.
You watch the carpet fly beneath you before getting another face-full, then feel the pressure increase and watch the ground soar yet again. The toes wriggle by your head each time, alternating between crushing pain as you're on the ground to squeezing pressure when in the air. After too long of running after Eliza, the foot stays on the ground. You strain to hear what's going on outside, and you believe you can hear Aunt Cassie saying:
