It was clear Blake didn’t want to do this, but Ruby’s puppy eyes managed to win her over. She sighed, admitting defeat as she said, “Our little secret.”
“Thank you.” Ruby smiled with two thumbs up. It was a little adorable to the giant Faunus, though she still looked quite fragile in this state despite being flattened for a few hours. If she was able to become a sticker, she might be immune to most damage.
Blake didn’t want to find out, she still felt guilty about what she did to her. “Sorry for sitting on you, by the way.” She whispered and looked away from her tiny leader.
Ruby understood her expression, “It’s okay. You didn’t know beforehand…and I honestly should’ve gotten on somewhere higher than that.” She was about to say something else before she yawned. She was still quite tired from earlier, and she didn’t think she could do too much at this point, or even go anywhere for that matter.
Blake knew her teammates would be up soon, but figured Ruby needed some rest. Maybe she’ll change her mind and want the team to find out later, but she had to accept her wishes for now. “You can sleep if you want. No need to do anything right now.”
“Thanks.” Ruby rolled onto her back, blowing out air through her nose while she kept looking at her giant friend. “Is it okay if you can place me on my bed, I want to rest on my pillow for now. And maybe this weird thing I have will wear off sooner than later.”
Blake considered it. It was likely Yang and Weiss won’t investigate the bed like Ruby had said, though she wasn’t sure if Ruby will stay there for long. She thought of an alternative and it meant keeping her around for safekeeping.
“How about I just keep you close? I can put you in my pocket or just carry you for now. What do you say?”
The option was quite a surprise to the tiny huntress-in-training. Ruby didn’t want to admit that Blake’s hand radiated warmth and was comfy, so she wasn’t sure if this was okay. Maybe the pillow was a better option to her, but Blake could at least make sure she was safe for the time being.
