This sucked. It really really blew. It's a long story, so let's start at the beginning. You tried out for the school play, since you wanted to have at least one extra-curricular on your record. So, the play was the easiest, you figured you'd be an extra or something. Unfortunately, not enough girls tried out, and you were made an understudy for the lead female role. The director assured you that it was just a formality, and would get you your credit for being in the play, all you had to do was learn the lines. You figured it was going to be painless.
How wrong you were. The lead actress, Katherine, got sick with the flu, the week right before the play was scheduled to open. You knew the lines, sure, but you can't go dressed as a girl in front of the entire school. Which is what you were attempting to explain to the director, Ms. Hanson.
"Listen, Ross, I am in a bind. We need someone who can act, and knows the lines. No one can do either of those things as well as you. Well, Katherine can, but you know why that won't work." Ms. Hanson said.
"Isn't there any other way? I'll never live it down! I still have a year left at this school!" you shouted.
"I'm sorry. There just isn't any other way." Ms. Hanson said. "I wish there was."
"Fine..." you pouted.
"Dress rehearsals start tomorrow, so come down to my office after school and we'll see about making you look like the character." Ms. Hanson said.
You sigh and leave the room, and take your script out. What play are you doing anyway?
