Chapter #4

Unfortunately, your powers are tied to belief, ...

    by: Unknown
"Looks like I'll have to get more people to see me as the almighty one. I mean, what's the point of being a god if no one is worshiping you? It's just the principle of the thing!" You say to yourself. You decide to test out your divine powers first with something simple. You didn't want to start morphing yourself or others just yet, you liked the weather right now so making tsunami's and earthquakes wouldn't really suit you, and changing the fabric of reality this early on could be a bit dangerous. Why not something simple, like teleportation? That couldn't be too hard, just moving around your mortal form?
You wonder how you would go about doing that, as you weren't too religious and weren't aware of any magic words or incantations. You raise your hand and decide that snapping was as good a place as any to start, as it's what you personally would've chosen. You feel a rush of energy course through you momentarily but nothing happens, your body staying exactly where it was. "Huh, that was a lucky guess." You say, looking at your hand. You close your eyes and begin concentrating very hard, thinking about the exact spot you wanted to teleport to. With a snap of your fingers you flt yourself materialize in Monica's living room.
Immediately you could tell that something was not right. The whole world was now washed out and fuzzy, and you were finding it immensely difficult to stand. Your line of sight swayed violently as you struggled to remain upright, thoughts blurring together as you muttered something unintelligible. You vaguely heard a high voice, likely Monica's call something out before you topple forward face first onto the floor.

"Ugh." You mutter as your head begins to clear, every part of your body now sore.
"Eric? Oh thank god Eric!" You hear Monica cheer, your eyes slowly fluttering open to see her beaming with relief.
"What happened?" You ask weakly, trying to sit up but finding your back uncooperative.
"You tell me genius! I was just sitting down watching TV when I swear you just exploded into the room! You muttered something and passed out, you really had me worried! I would've called an ambulance or something but I... I panicked! I mean you just appeared there, right in the middle of the room like a super hero or something! I didn't know if it would be a good idea to get you around doctors, and you didn't seem to be hurt, just passed out." She explained. "So, care to tell me how you did that?"
"I... well it's kind of a long story, and pretty outrageous." You say, prepping her for the recap. You explained Alkazar, your wish to be a god, and your test run that inexplicably ended in failure.
Monica just looked at you with a blank stare. "So you're a god now?" She said, the thought slowly sinking into her head over nearly a minute. "Awesome!"
As she said that another strange feeling went through you. You suddenly felt re energized, your muscles returning to their normal state and your head clearing up to the point feeling... more than just awake. You suddenly felt just a little bit smarter, as though you could suddenly tap into more information than you could before. With this mild increase in intelligence you put the pieces together just a little quicker, and soon sprung to your feet "Holy shit!" You said in excitement, before the realization struck you and you then cursed more bitterly "Oh shit!"
"What is it?" Monica asked, putting her hand on your shoulder.
"That bastard tricked me! My powers are linked to how many people believe in me, so I pretty much have to convince every last person on earth that I'm really almighty before I actually am ALL MIGHTY!" You state.
"Really? Are you sure?" Monica questions.
"Let me check." You say, thinking up an experiment. "I'm going to teleport into your back yard, could you wait for me out there?" You ask. She nods and walks into the kitchen and out the back door, waiting for you just out of sight on the patio. You concentrate very hard before snapping your fingers. You materialize right before Monica's very eyes, and though you feel very drained and dizzy you manage to stay upright and not pass out, though you are panting and sweating rather profusely. "Wa-water?" You huff, hand placed on your knees for support. "Could you get me water?" You clarify.
Monica nods and fetches you a glass which you proceed to gulp down as she talks aloud. "Hmm, you aren't very powerful with only me believing in you, we should probably work on fixing that if we want to get the most out of your wish." She thinks for a short time, then adds... "
