To your relief, neither of them seemed to catch your slip of the tongue. Or, neither cared. The next several moments were filled with yelling and panic.
"We must have fallen asleep on the couch. Good thing you two..." Lizzie's voice cracked and her smile quickly morphed to shock. Her eyes widened as she stared at you and Jason. She screamed and jumped off the couch, collapsing onto the floor.
"Lizzie!" Jason yelled her name.
You felt a sudden, hard tug along your chest and abdomen. You felt yourself toppling onto the floor beside Lizzie, landing smack on your back with a thud. Groaning, you glanced at your father, now twin brother.
Jason looked at you, confusion etched on his face. He glanced at your body, and the confusion was soon replaced with panic. "Wha... what the..." His tongue seemed tied, unable to finish the sentence.
You felt your heart begin to race, and your own palm began to sweat. 'Why are they reacting like this?' You asked yourself, not daring to speak. You were certain that you selected the reality mode of this magic blade. If the directions were correct, this should normal. You were at a loss for words; you did not understand what could have gone wrong.
"What happened to us!" Jason yelled, though his tone was not accusatory. He genuinely seemed confused, scared.
Your face must have matched the same confusion, the same fear, though for different reasons.
You felt a hand, your brother's, touch your chest. It was strange feeling his fingertips touch 'your half, while not feeling his palm touch 'his half'. "What the hell happened?" You asked, almost a whisper. You had not meant to speak aloud, but neither Jason or Lizzie knew what you had meant by the question. They must have assumed that you were just a shocked by this strange occurrence, waking up sharing a body with your brother. While in reality, you were questioning why they felt it was strange.
While perhaps not as intended, you had achieved your goal. The mirror in the room reflected two identical, astonished faces. You were now Jason's identical twin brother, though newly-conjoined twin brother seemed more accurate. A quiet stillness fell over all three of you, as you each processed the morning surprise.
