"...I'm afraid that you and your family weren't the only ones involved in the crash. There was another car."

"There was?" This coming as a complete surprise. Having assumed that it had just the five of you and the driver of the truck.

"Yes. It was in the lane next to you," Kerry told you, explaining the severity of the damage. "Apparently the truck careened directly into it after hitting you and caused it to roll onto its roof. Firefighters even had to cut it open in order to get everybody out."

"Oh my God." Obviously not remembering the details of your own narrow miss, but that sounded pretty damn crazy. Having only ever seen a car roll like he was describing in movies and on TV. Not in real life. Prompting you to ask him, "And... And were they okay?" Being worried now for these other people's safety.

"Well, yes and no. Some were more injured than others. But thanks to the work of Dr. Saunders and myself... Just as with you and your family... they all pulled through and are perfectly fine now."

His answer being less than conclusive. The short, balding doctor shrugging his shoulders slightly as he said, "I'm not sure. Maybe. One of them is around the same age as you are." Looking down at his clipboard and flipping over the page. Studying it for a moment as if checking to see. Before seemingly getting distracted.

Which you obviously found frustrating. Needing to speak up once again in order to find out. Having no idea why he didn't just come out and tell you. Was there some reason for this apparent secrecy? Were these 'complications' he'd mentioned (along with that vague memory of what the two of them had been talking about when you'd first come to) a mere slip of the tongue? Something that he wasn't supposed to tell you. It kind of seeming that way now.

"So... Who are they?"

"Hm?" Kerry muttered. Looking back up from his clipboard. "Oh... Oh yes. Sorry. They're the..."
