Chapter #4

Emma's English Project

    by: Unknown
You let out a sigh of relief as you realized that Emma didn’t need the book that you were stuck to for her next class. Unfortunately, she didn’t need the stack of papers and books that were on top of you either, so as she closed her locker you realized that you were going to be trapped for quite a while.

The weight of the papers and books above you was intense, and there was really nothing you could do about it. You were crushed as flat as a piece of paper, and you weren’t able to reform at all. You could merely content yourself to waiting in Emma’s locker for her to return from whatever class she had gone to.

After about five minutes, you realized something that actually scared you. There was a large stack of papers and books currently sitting on top of you, but one paper in particular was directly on you. For some reason, you began to feel your papery body sticking to the paper pressing down on you. That would be bad if Emma returned to her locker, and couldn’t find you because you were stuck to the paper.

***

About forty minutes later, you heard the sound of Emma’s locker being opened. Her class had ended, and she was headed off to English next. However, she had accidentally left her English project in her locker, so she needed to get it. She lifted several textbooks from her locker, until finally she saw her project sitting there. It was a paper that had a bunch of colorful picture of literary elements on it. Emma had drawn her project on tan paper.

***

To your surprise, you felt weight lifting off of you. You realized that Emma must need something that was underneath her mound of text books. Soon, all of the weight was gone from you, except for that one piece of paper on top of you. Suddenly, the paper above you was picked up, and you went with it! Your fears had been confirmed! You had stuck to the paper above you, and you probably blended right in!

***

You couldn’t have been more right about blending in. Emma realized her paper was heavier than she remembered, so she turned it over to make sure nothing was stuck to the back. All she saw was a totally tan back side. Your face had been so mashed and squashed, that you were unrecognizable! She shrugged her shoulders, and then ran off to her English class, tightly clutching her project.

***

You felt her hands grip you tightly, squeezing you forcefully, and then you were being whisked down the hall at blinding speeds. You figured that Emma had recognized you, which spelled disaster for you. You had to get out of this mess quickly, but at the current moment there was nothing you could do.

Emma walked into her English class, and dropped her project on the teacher’s desk. You landed with a slight thud as you hit the desk, the side of the paper you were crushed to face down. Your world was darkness, and you couldn’t see anything that was going on.

Emma’s teacher, Miss Scarlet, looked over from her computer, and at Emma’s project. She was known for being harshly critical of project’s she didn’t like. What does she think of Emma’s project?
