The wolf turned toward the shattered cockpit windshield and let out a howl that went on for a full minute, suddenly you hear something rustling in the nearby bushes. As the noise got closer you contemplated your sidearm again, but you knew the wolf might stop you with more than a growl this time. You look out the windshield expecting another wolf to jump on the nose of the helicopter, but none did. Suddenly you feel something brush against your boot, you look and see a small fox climbing through the smashed nose bubble at you feet and climb up on your lap.
Like the wolf, the fox started to sniff at your face and work its way down, stopping at the metal shard. The fox lightly bit the shard which sent a tingle of pain up your side, "aahh please don't do that" you say to the fox. The wolf lets out a small growl to the fox, the fox climbs off you and the two disappear behind you, suddenly you feel the shard start to move, "hey please don't touch th--" before you could finish you hear a snap followed by you being freed from the chair. You look over and see the wolf with a piece of the rotor shard in her mouth, you carefully climb out of the cockpit , taking care not to smack the piece of rotor that was still in your side into anything.
You find a tree and lean against it , you look back and see the wolf and fox staring at you from the helicopter side door. You look down at the remains of the shrapnel, it stuck out about one foot in front of you and stuck out about four inches from your backside. You look at it and contemplate pulling it out, if you leave it in your risk infection, and if you pull it out you risk reopening any plugged arteries.......
