The fact was Sojo's best friend and longtime crush Runi Nomaki was not only ready and willing to come with Sojo but had already packed when he told her the news. Runi was a Japanese SDF agent by trade and had actually met Sojo as an exchange student visiting a Miami area school at the age of 8, they had kept in touch ever since they were in 2nd grade together. Runi was an oddity in Japan, having the looks of a local mixed with a Norse woman's shiny blonde hair. Runi's mother was full Japanese while her father was half Greek and half Norse.
