When your body gets possessed, you become a bodiless soul doomed to wander the world.
This choice: Go at it alone for now.  •  Go Back...
Chapter #7

Go at it alone for now.

    by: Unknown
"I see what you mean. In that case I'd rather that you don't invite your friend. I can't risk someone else getting like this."

"That's good, it will take us longer but I think we can manage it by ourselves." Emma says confident.

"Glad to hear. Shall we continue to your house?" You ask her interested.

Emma nods. "Yeah, I don't have that many books at home, but tomorrow we can hit the library."

"Sounds like a good plan. Lead the way home."

Emma's house is not far from where you currently are. She lives in a normal suburban house. You expected the house looked like something from the Adams family, but maybe that was because you didn't know much about Goths.

"You living here with your parents?" You ask interested.

"Yeah, I have an older sister but she's in college."

Emma opens the door and walks inside as you follow behind her. Inside the hallway she stops to pull of her boots.

"It's quiet in here." You tell her looking around. So far it looked pretty normal to you.

"My dad's at work and my mom is probably doing groceries." She tells stretching her pantyhose covered legs. "Follow me."

She takes you upstairs and at the end of the hallway you enter a room. "This is what I expected." You mumble in yourself. The room is covered in darkness. You can't see anything in front of you. You just float a little forward when suddenly a sharp pain hits your body.

"Agh." You mutter as you fall on the ground.

"What's wrong?" She asks concerned.

"It.. feels like I'm being crushed from the inside."

"I think I know what it is, one sec." Emma does something you can't see but the next moment you can feel the pain getting away.

"Phew thanks, what was that?"

Emma pulls the light switch on, and a small light allows you to look around. On the ground a kid has drawn some sort of star with chalk .

"That's a pentagram to hold off spirits. I actually took it as a precaution but I never knew if it actual worked."

"Great to hear. But would it also work when someone like I took your body instead?"

"Difficult to say, would depend on the circumstances. If you and I were to share a body, I would say that the person who isn't in charge would be pulled out of the body. If someone took over a body and forced the other soul out, I think it wouldn't work. But I'm not an expert on the subject."

"Interesting, might work as some sort of trap." You think out loud.

"Probably, but I think they would easily get pass them. It's just to keep the fools out."

"Have you seen souls wandering around your house before then?" You ask her as she sits down on her bed.

"No, but I've noticed that lately more lost souls are around the area then before. During the winter I would always see more beggar and whore souls, you know because of the cold weather, but it's summer now and it hasn't slowed down yet."

"That's weird, do you think it means something?"

Emma shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know, it might be because of a warm summer that more people would die of a sunstroke or something like that or it might be something else. But that's not our concern. We have to find a way to get you inside that body of yours."

"I have some book about the occult, maybe there is something inside it." Emma points to a book case. She walks over to it and opens it. Your mouth goes wide open when you see how many books there are inside.

"Are we suppose to search through them all?" You ask her a bit shocked.

"If you mean with "we" me, yes. You can't touch anything, so you can't help look."

Emma picks one of the books off a shelf and goes sitting on her bed reading. "This would be easier if you had just taken that girl's body, you know?"

"I know right. Sorry for trying to be a good soul."

Emma smiles a little. "I know you are."

While Emma goes through her books, you look around the room. You can see some heavy metal band posters hanging on the walls, the Cd's on her desk tell you that Emma listens to them a lot. On her desk you can see a picture of Emma together with two other girls. One with red hair reaching her neck, the other long wavy black hair reaching her back. All three smiled, they looked like they were having fun. You are about to ask Emma who they are, but she seems too intrigued into her book you decide not to bother her.

You just lie on your back wondering what to do now.

You have the following choices:

1. Look around the house a little.

*Noteb*
2. Stay with Emma in case she finds something.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
