A thought occurred to him: what happens if he picks a different cloak? Heading back to the hamper he put the Slytherin cloak to one side and picked out a Ravenclaw one. It had no name tag in it, but was clearly tailored for a taller person. From the fit of it, maybe a seventh year girl?
He put it on, smiling to himself at the absurdity of it, the end of it dragging on the floor. Heading back across to the mirror, Harry looked to see if his reflection had changed at all. And it definitely had!
There were still similarities, his scar remained as a lightning bolt blemish across the young woman’s forehead and her eyes were the same vivid green. However, she was much taller, with a willow-y sort of beauty, and long, blond hair, a bit like an older Luna. Again, as he ran his hands up and down his body, the woman in the mirror did too.
Harry felt drawn to the mirror, who was this person, why did the mirror keep some of his traits and what more could it do?
But for all his recklessness, he remembered the lessons from Dumbledore's pensieve well, don't touch strange magical objects! And yet, what would the harm be? Or, might a different house be a better idea?
