Strolling out of the store and down the sidewalk, Vanessa had to examine the ring she had just bought. The store owner said it could teleport her, but it was obviously some cheap tourist trick. The ring itself consisted of a solid gold band capped with a shinning green stone. Vanessa could have easily paid much more for this, but she wasn't about to complain. Vanessa slipped it on her right ring finger..or at least tried to.
The ring was smaller than Vanessa had thought and she really had to force the damn thing on. After about two minutes or struggling the gold ring finally got pushed past her knuckle.
"Much better." Vanessa smiled, admiring her new accessory.
Vanessa had to stop walking at an intersection and groaned. Her apartment was four blocks away and she had been on her feet all day, Vanessa honestly wished she could just jump straight there.
"What do you say ring?" She said to the piece of jewelry. "Think you can get me all the way to my room with no trouble? No? Didn't think so."
Shaking her head in annoyance, the intersection light turned green and Vanessa began to walk across, but was that light getting closer? In fact it seemed like the entire block was rushing toward her, with everything zooming by in a blur...and then it stopped, and she could hear rushing water.
Vanessa had to catch her breath after she felt her feet stopped and she looked around. She was in her bedroom! But how?
Vanessa raised her hand and looked at the ring on her finger.
"No fucking way." She whispered. "This can't be real..."
The rushing water suddenly stopped and Vanessa realized that her room mate, Suzie had probably been taking a shower. A few seconds later, Suzie emerged wearing a towel and nearly jumped after exiting the hallway and seeing Vanessa in the bedroom.
"Oh hey Vanessa." She said. "I didn't hear you come in." She coughed. "I assume you want to shower next?"
"Uh...why do you assume that?" Vanessa asked, still trying to wrap her head around this.
"Well you look like you're getting ready for one..." Suzies gaze looked away.
Confused Vanessa looked down at herself and saw that she was...
