Once again, Vanessa found herself staring at the spirit's naked body. Where her own blouse and jeans had been a second earlier was once again just dark orange skin.
"Wh- How does that help?!" Vanessa cried, her hands still clamped tight over her chest and crotch, "Those were my clothes! How can I explain to my mother," Vanessa glanced back, gesturing to her mom, "that you just made them vani--" Vanessa trailed off, double-taking. "Oh no..." She said under her breath.
Tara would have been yelling further at her naked daughter, had she not been shocked into silence. One second she's livid, her daughter running around in the buff, and the next second, she herself was just as naked. Her cheeks were red for a moment out of embarrassment, before her entire face went pale as the situation sunk in.
"Vanessa, how...?" Tara muttered, staring wide-eyed at her daughter. Vanessa, meanwhile, was trembling. At first she was worried her mother would be angry, and now she had to worry that her mother had just been traumatized.
"Genie!" Vanessa cried.
"Yes, master," came the ever-stoic reply.
"Why?!"
"She was angry because you were naked. If she is also naked, she cannot be angry at you." When Vanessa still looked confused, the genie merely pointed at Tara, who had recovered enough to cover herself, "She seems not to be angry any more. Is there anything else you wish?"
"I wish... I wish I didn't have to explain this to my mother!" Vanessa shouted, saying the first thing that came to mind, frustrated at the Genie.
