Having just received her pay from the last Hunger Games movie, Jennifer decided to splash out a little bit. Near her place was an old antique shop that she had been meaning to check out. She had money and she had time, so she decided that today was the day to have a look.
Walking into the shop, her nose was immediately assaulted by a number of smells. She recoiled briefly before getting over the smell. She passed the counter, where an ancient man was tending the till. He smiled at Jennifer.
"Welcome! If you see anything, don't hesitate to ask me about it".
Jennifer thanked him before beginning her search.
After perusing most of the shelves, her eye was drawn to a necklace. It had a silver chain with a diamond heart. Lifting it, she thought she saw the diamond glow but dismissed it as a trick of the light.
Taking it to the man, she asked, "What's the story about this necklace?"
"Well, it was once owned by a princess, years ago. Her fiancee gave it to her as an engagement gift, so she wore it everyday. Sadly, before their wedding, the princess discovered that she was pregnant. Her fiancee abandoned her because of it. In her grief, the princess took her own life. I can only assume that someone stole the necklace for it to have ended up her", explained the man.
"How much?", asked Jennifer.
"For you? I'll take 50 dollars because you are one of the only people to have visited my shop in a while", replied the man.
Handing over the money, Jennifer slipped the necklace over her head. Once again, she thought she saw the diamond glow, but she ignored it again. Thanking the man, she left the shop.
However, on her way back home...
