You were only a few keystrokes away from fixing the error before something felt off. You paused for a moment as you suddenly felt a presence behind you. Turning your head, your heart sank in fear. Encompassing your entire vision was a massive hand. Without even collecting your thoughts, you bolted towards the door. Before your could make it two steps, the gigantic fingers had encompassed you, pulling you into the massive bare palm. You struggled desperately as your entire body was pressed against the soft warm surface.
What was happening? Everything was happening too quickly to comprehend.
Then, just as it had begun, there was nothing. The fingers that had been pressed against your back were now gone. You felt a cool breeze and smelled fresh cut grass.
“Wh-where…” You lifted your head only to be hit with a horrifying sight. You were outside. Across the vast fleshy palm was what looked like an enormous back yard. Lifting your head, you were met with the most shocking realization of all. High up above was the huge smiling face of a young boy. It took you a moment to recognize him as your neighbor's kid. You had occasionally seen him playing out in his front yard with a few of his friends, but you've never actually been introduced by his parents.
“Cooooool” Joey brought his palm up to eye level, inspecting your tiny form. The young boy's warm breath washed over you, smelling of apple juice.
His hazel eyes were terrifyingly enormous as they focused in.
It was then that you noticed the secondary portal over the side of the hand. Everything clicked.
Knowing that you needed to regain your composure, you attempted to balance yourself, ready to speak.
“h-HEY!” Joey’s eyes widened with surprise that you spoke.
“K-Kid! I need you to put me back in there!!” You pointed at the portal.
Joey just continued to stare for a moment, amazed that the tiny man could talk. He wasn't sure if you had actually just been a tiny action figure or something. It hadn't occurred to him that you might actually be a real person.
“How come you’re so little?” The boy asked curiously
“I’m your next door neighbor! I was conducting an experiment and there was an accident! I need you to put me back into that portal!”
“Portal?” The boy asked, staring at the hole in space. “Wait, you live next door?” The boy turned his head towards the fence to his left.
“Yes! I know your parents!” Your voice was starting to get tired.
“oh…” There was an odd, almost dissapointed tone to the boy's voice.
“Look! I really need you to put me back! The portal won’t last much longer before it needs to shut down!”
