You nod your head yes and so the fox raised her paw to touch your head again, but this time you stopped her before she could dive back into your memories, "Wait, before you show me, I want you to tell me, I want to hear everything in your own words, what happened after" you told her, looking deep into her emerald eyes, the glow of the camping lantern playing across her face as it illuminated the dark interior of the APC. For a while she was silent, the sound of rain pattering off the steel of the transport as you both sat there, she was looking into your eyes just as deeply as you before she finally spoke, "Well I'm not sure how to put this gently, so I guess I'll give you the short and blunt version, we've been together for almost a year since your accident, and when I say together I mean as lovers you and I" she said, her voice almost getting stuck in her throat, told you this was hard for her to tell. "You and I didn't always like each other at first, we fought, I think it was mostly you were afraid of me and afraid of what was going on in the world now" she said gesturing to the outside.
"But after a few months you warmed up to me. You were never a prisoner of mine and you were always free to leave, but you stayed regardless and after a few more months.....we started.... oh what's the human word for it" she looked away as she thought of the word "-...dated?" you asked, guessing the word. "Yea, um..I think, I think that's the word" she said suddenly excited for a bit as she looked back into your eyes, but turned away suddenly "And now you look at me like you think I'm lying, when I look into your eyes i no longer see the love you shown me, I'm not sure what happened to you, but I'm telling you the truth about it all" she said, some wetness forming in her eyes now, slowly she reached out a touched a paw to your cheek, you didn't stop her this time and let her, her paw was soft as she cupped it to your face, "I wished so badly for you to return to me, and now you're here, but I see your memory of me is lost, and I worry I still never found you" She said, a tear rolling down her cheek.
