Chapter #5

Piling up on supplies

    by: Froakie Author IconMail Icon
You could feel your heart beating through your chest. Your mind was reeling on whether to play it safe, or take this risk. Peering through your binoculars over at the pile, you look through the goods there.

Screws, wood chips, some food, there was even some metallic tops for screws that you could use as containers for yourself. So many rations. . it was. . so tempting.

Yet, isn't this what it was all about. Braving the elements and doing things that were a little bit risky? Wasn't that the point of all of this?
Steeling your courage, you looked at the pile, then back at the god like amazon still sweeping around the corner. Wiping your forehead of sweat, you started emptied your backpack in your still partially destroyed base camp. You needed it to be as empty as possible so you could secure as many supplies as you could.

Making your way towards the pile, you felt really really scared. God, this was so risky. You could feel your skin feeling tingly and a little weak as you felt the repeated pounding from both the giant broom and your mountainous mother's feet ravishing the land. After a few minutes, you made it to the pile, as your mother continued to add to it, still you being unseen.

Looking through the piles, you began to quickly prioritize the order of importance based on the items that were readily available. Food was something that wasn't too hard to gain in this area, because of all the scraps around here. Quickly, you first placed some of the metal tops for the screws in your bag. They were a little heavy, but being able to store your goods is something that is critical to the success of your trip. Next, you gathered a bunch of wooden splints. Crafting these into building materials, as well as possible weapons, was the next step. While you did have a machete that you shrank yourself with, it wasn't going to last too long. . so you would need a replacement.

SLAM!!

You practically had a heart attack as the entire pile shifted and shook as your mother's giant foot smashed hard into the ground again.

'DAMN!! YOU BUGS NEED TO GET OFF OF MY PATIO!! IF IT WASN'T SO UNHEALTHY FOR ME TOO. . I'D FUMIGATE THIS ENTIRE AREA AGAIN!!'

You realized that there really wasn't that many bugs that you had seen while going around this area. Your mother must have really fumigated this place hard before you came in. You'd need to create some kind of escape if she ever got the idea to do that again. Maybe, create a tunnel inside the house to hang there til all that poison died down here.

Your thoughts back to survival, you started again at the pile.

The final set of items you were able to stuff in your bag, was some small pieces of twine. These were great, because you could deconstruct them and use them for a variety of goods that could be extremely useful to you. After the final thing was pushed into your bag, you grabbed a broken in half coffee stirrer in your hands and made your way back to base camp, your heart still beating so fast with the adrenaline rushing through you.

After about half an hour of traveling, you finally made it back, a little sweaty, tired, but feeling good. It had taken a lot longer getting back than it had to come over here, due to the weight of all these items. If you were able too. . you might want to pick up some of those smaller screw pieces that you saw back in the pile, to try and make some kind of wheelbarrow. That would definitely make supply gathering a bit less. . tiresome.

You unload the supplies in the nook in the wall besides your broken down base camp. Once you rebuilt, this would do very nicely. Grabbing your binoculars, you check back on how your giantess mother was doing.

At this point, she had finished cleaning out two entire sides of the patio and it looked absolutely spotless!! You could eat off of the floor, without fear. Again, this was a bit strange. Why was she going to all of this trouble to make the patio so clean? Your parents never went this in depth.

WHAM!!

Your thoughts were disrupted when your mother again slammed onto the ground hard, stomping out some unfortunate creature with her giant bare feet.

Shaking, you look over to try and see the damage she had done. It was too far away as she had started to move in that different direction.

Looking over back at the pile, you saw that at this point, she had merged her two big piles to make an even bigger one!! Even more supplies and goods were at stake, although you knew it would only be a matter of time before your mother started to focus on your area next. If you were still hanging around there. . it would be very unsafe.

Rubbing your chin, you ponder on what your next move will be.
