Nope nope nope nope nope. You decided to camp inside to stay away from hungry animals, not to get closer to them. You scuttle back to your camp and throw yourself into your tent, safe (or at least safer) from the hungry beasts.
"Sorry about that. How about we get you some pears, huh? Will that make up for it?" She stomps around for a while more, but you're done with her for now. Eventually, her footsteps fade away, and you feel confident enough to venture back out.
You were right about one thing: Abby was a mess maker. A sliver of pear, cut to the right size for the geckos, was sitting on the floor before the fridge, dropped and unnoticed by the teen. Unfortunately, it was trampled completely flat and caked with dirt from her shoe.
You make a mental note (Abby doesn't watch where she walks) and head over to the scrap to see if there's anything you can salvage. Most of it was ruined beyond what you were willing to eat, but you were able to gather at least enough for a single, small meal. Anything to keep your rations going longer. You take it back to camp and eat it then, worried it'll spoil even faster after being trod on.
You're washing the last pear down when you hear footsteps again. It's Abby again, her gaudy shoes sparkling as she steps towards the fridge.
"Alrighty," she says to herself. "Now that I've got my girls fed, what about me? Hmmm..."
Filing another mental note (Abby talks to herself a lot), you realize that this could be the chance you were waiting for earlier. She's messy, so she'll probably drop some food for you to store in your little cubby camp.
She rocks back on her heels, and you catch a glimpse of bits of pear stuck between the treads. It also might be wiser to stay away from this girl, at least while she's stomping around in those thick soled shoes. And anyway, you did just eat.
