You quietly enter Abby's room and are met with an absolute mess. Discarded socks, shoes, and other clothing could be seen sloppily thrown on the floor along side empty soda cans and bags of chips. While something like this would usually bother you, this time it was what you hoped for. Abby always seemed to be messier than her other siblings which meant that there would be more places for you to hide and more chances at survival.
You did one last check of your items, make sure that all of your weapons and gadgets were with you before you shrink down. You set your knife down before taking out the shrinking device and readying it. Within seconds a white light envelops you and you start shrinking.
When you came to you looked around the room. The room was like a completely different world to you, even Abby's once dainty sneakers eclipsed your 1/8 of an inch form. You couldn't wait to find a good place to call your base camp in this room and if you ever got bored you could always venture out to one of the other rooms.
That was when you heard a loud thump. You turned your back to see the now giant Abby climbing into her room through her window. You panicked and ran behind the discarded sneaker that was next to you for some cover, not that it would be much help anyway. Behind Abby was another girl that seemed to be around Abby's age. You have seen her around this house before when you were studying the Andersons but you were never particularly interested in her, she seemed to just be one of Abby's friends that came visit. Although this time it seems like these two are skipping school. Good thing you decided to shrink when you did.
"Are you sure we won't get caught ?", Abby's friend says. As you expected, you were still just barely able to understand the speech of normal sized people at this size. The two gigantic teens began walking around the room causing you to move around the converse for more cover from their gaze. "Relax Sue, my parents haven't caught me yet. What makes you think they'll start now ?", Abby reassures her friend. She continues rummaging around her room as if she is looking for something.
You keep hidden behind the shoe, crouching down lower when the shoe of the girl, who you assumed was Susan, crashed down near your hiding spot.
"I just don't want to take too many chances, you know"
"Yeah yeah", Abby says more invested in her search.
You guessed that they were going to be out of your hair soon enough. You made a mental note to look for a good hiding spot as soon as they were gone. You tried to stay put as the giant footsteps shook the earth underneath you.
"Whose knife is this ?", you heard Susan say. You instinctually reached for your own knife and realized that it wasn't there. You left it on the desk near you before you shrunk down. You heard Abby's footsteps approach so that she could inspect your weapon.
"I don't know, but it's mine now", Abby said shortly before another loud thud was heard. Most likely Abby tossing your knife somewhere else in this room. "You're really just gonna leave some random knife on your nightstand like that ?", Susan asked sounding concerned. "Would you stop worrying so much and help me find my wallet.", Abby responded.
This isn't good. You just left behind evidence of your arrival. Abby here seems to be very careless but what if she found a way to trace your weapon back to you, your entire plan would be revealed.
If you could reach your knife you would be able to shrink it down so that you could have a weapon at this size but it would waste your last charge and you would truly be stuck at this size. While you didn't have your knife you did have your grapple gun, so if you could find a high place to help you reach the enormous nightstand you would be able to reach the top. You could climb one of the giant teens but you didn't have much time before the leave. Maybe it would be better to wait for them to leave before going after it or you could forget about the knife and hope that Abby treats it with as little care as she does with everything else.
