"What!?" Laura is surprised to hear her own mother say that. "Why are you saying that!?" She yells.
"Don't raise your voice, little lady." Lilly responds. "I told you it was a bad idea to offer yourself for this drug testing." She looks disappointed at the shrunken teen. "Did at least cure your cold?"
"Yes, mom." Laura crosses her arms. "Listen, I'm sorry for yelling, but I need to go to the lab to get me fixed." She sees her gigantic mother taking the pills package and reading the side effects.
"It may cause shrinking." Lilly stares at her daughter with an ironic look on her face. "You seriously didn't read that?"
"I didn't, okay?" Laura stomps her feet in the mattress. "Are we going to the laboratory or not?"
Laura's mother checks her watch. "Sorry, can't do it. I have to work." Lilly puts back the pills on the cabinet and adjust her coat. "I'll ask my boss about giving me a free day tomorrow, then I'll take you. This is an expected side effect, so we can't freak out about it."
"Wait, you're serious?" The small girl shows off her naked body and her 6 inches size. "You are leaving me here?"
"No, I'm not. I'm leaving for work and if that makes you think I'm abandoning you, it is not." Lilly is about to walk out of the room, but she stops and sighs. "I prepared your breakfast and left it in the living room. I'll take you there and then see what we can do."
Laura was mad, she wasn't expecting the way her mother reacted, being carried on her palm, the brunette stood up in front of the plate with eggs and bacon. Knowing she wasn't going to be at her normal size any time soon, she starts to eat.
"Sweetie." Her mother sits in front of her. "Listen, I'm sorry for how I acted before. It's just that I've been dealing with a lot of stuff recently. Buying your brother books, saving money for your college, paying the bills. And you like this, it doesn't make it better." She admits. "So, I'm sorry, honey. Trust me, I'll do everything I can to take you to the lab tomorrow. Just spend here the day and don't go anywhere."
Laura didn't want to accept her apologies, but seeing the living room table at her current size made her realize it was quite a change. "Fine." She rolls her eyes. "I'm sorry, too, mom." Her mother pats her head.
"Okay, then. Now I gotta go." Lilly kisses her. "I'll see you tonight." She leaves and closes the front door of the house.
"Great, I'm going to stay like this for today." Laura laments while she hangs her legs in the table. "I wonder if I can move from here." She thinks about some possibilities and then......
