Using all your strength, even from the disadvantage of being on the ground, you shove the short woman away, running out of the tent with nothing but her laughter following you out. You make your way back into the crowd of people, trying to take your mind off of what had just happened. You hear your name being called out, and you turn to see Maggie waving her arms to get your attention. You make your way back to her and she gives you a small kiss. "Where have you been? You missed out on a lot." You give a nervous chuckle and respond "No.. don't worry, I... saw a lot." She gives you a warm smile and you two spend the rest of the day wandering the grounds. You try to get her to stay away from the tent containing the woman who threatened to turn you into a bug using her feet, but after a while, you inevitably double back to the place you ran from just an hour or so earlier. But as you point out some landmarks, you realized that you had passed over the area where the tent was. It was gone! You didn't even see an indent in the grass from where it had been set up. How could this be? Did you imagine the whole thing? You try to shrug it off, and spend the rest of the day close to Maggie. The two of you get home late in the evening, and you feel so drained from the day that you kiss your girlfriend and make your way into bed. You pass out almost immediately, and when you open your eyes, you're no longer in your home. You're in an open field of tall grass.
You see nothing but the field in every direction, with the sun shining brightly overhead. You hear a voice say all around you... "YOU THINK THAT THIS IS OVER..." You spin around quickly and see in the distance a figure of a woman. A short woman. Dressed in red, with jewels and beads, with wild black hair. It's Madame Rosella! You see her walk towards you and the words echo in your head again... "MY MAGIC WILL FOLLOW YOU FOREVER...". You turn to run from her but bump into something large and firm. You step back to check what exactly you've hit, and are shocked to discover a gigantic human foot in your path. You look up slowly to discover that you're in between the legs of a gargantuan gypsy, staring down at you and grinning as she whispers "IT WILL SHRINK YOU UNTIL YOU ARE LESS THAN THE DIRT BETWEEN MY TOES." And in a flash of light, you are transported to a huge tan plane, with hills and canyons all throughout it. But there is a smell in the air that disorients you and confuses you. It smells like... hand lotion. You look up and no longer see a sun in the sky, but a huge eyeball darting back and forth to search for you. It finally comes to rest and the head it's attached to leans back. The massive face of Madame Rosella is gazing down on your miniscule body, like a goddess watching over the earth. You fall back onto the ground, which you now realize is her massive palm, and you feel yourself shrinking furher and further into the cracks of her skin. Her face, still as beautiful and powerful as ever, is staring down at you and with a very cold, determined look, the goddess speaks once more. "YOU WILL NOT ESCAPE... MY POWER." She lifts her other hand above the open palm, and extends her index finger, which she aims right at you. The huge appendage gets closer and closer, looking like a planet crashing directly on top of you. And just as her fingernail is about to make contact with her palm, sandwiching your speck sized body between them...
You sit up in a shot, sweating and breathing heavily. You are shaking from the vision in your dreams, and you look out the window. The sun. It's the next day already, but you feel as though you haven't slept a wink. You stand up, groggy from the experience, and start to walk into the next room. You greet your girlfriend, who's already up eating breakfast. You can tell she's just woken up herself, because her hair is a mess and she's wearing nothing but a tank top and panties. Your eyes lock with hers, and she says "Good morning, sunshine. You really hit it hard last night." You sigh and say "Yeah, and the bad thing is i feel like i haven't slept at all." She gives a fake pouty face as she says "Aww, poor baby. Have some breakfast, and maybe you'll feel better." You concur, grabbing some cereal and sitting next to her as you two recount your trip to the festival yesterday. She talks about the jousting tournament and how she knew a few of the girls selling wares from high school, but then she says something that shakes you up a bit. "I was kinda disappointed though. I really wanted to see Madame Rosella there." You stop eating and try to hide your embarrassment at hearing the name. How does Maggie know that crazy gypsy woman? You ask "Ummm... who's that?" She rolls her eyes and says "Oh nobody. Just this card reader I go to sometimes. She's usually really good with the readings, and a few of my friends have said that her spells and charms actually work. I've seen her every time the faire's come through here... she even knows me by name. But this year, i didn't even see her tent. Maybe she moved to a different part of the country." You try not to make eye contact as you say "Really... that's odd.", and get back to your breakfast. Maggie finishes before you do and looks at you with a playful look before saying...
